.@JamesTalarico: We didn’t win by alienating our neighbors, or by shaming our neighbors, or by ridiculing our neighbors. We embodied a new kind of politics. A politics rooted in a deep love — for our state, for our country, and for all of our neighbors.
My faith teaches me that love is the strongest force in the universe.
Love is not passive. Love is not neutral. Love is not weak. Love requires that we stand between the bullies and the bullied. Love requires that we look evil in the eye and not blink.
Love can heal what’s broken in America.

She proved she'd face torture in her home country. They say they're just enforcing the law, but there's no legal requirement to find a country where this woman has never lived to send her to. They're taking a million unnecessary steps to enforce the law punitively.
Sister Leticia Ugboaja, a nun arrested on a Sunday morning walking to mass in McAllen, TX, in June, showed up to ICE check-in today.
Her attorney, Carlos M. Garcia, said no ankle monitor was placed but government is still pursuing a 3rd country removal.

WOW. The ex-wife of the ICE officer who shot a 26-year-old Colombian man in Maine has come forward to say that he had mental health issues and was abusive in their relationship.
She says after the shooting he called asking her to vouch for him — instead, she went to the press.
ICE shooter's ex-wife told the Portland Press Herald today he asked her "to lie for him and to cover for his character. I told him that I was not going to lie for him.”

Friendly reminder for @USCIS, it is unlawful to discriminate against Chinese #EB5 investors: "no person shall receive any preference or priority or be discriminated against in the issuance of an immigrant visa because of the person's race, sex, nationality, place of birth, or place of residence." A reminder that Flo Balogun would not be on the US Men's National Team if Trump's birthright citizenship order was in place when he was born in NY. The first US man to score more than one goal in a World Cup match since the very first World Cup in 1930.
Ossoff: This is what small men like Donald Trump and JD Vance and Stephen Miller will never understand—that our national greatness flows not through our blood or our genes, but through our ideas.
Americans are not a race, we're a people united not by ethnicity, but by our shared convictions, and that is what makes us exceptional

If you really want the US to have an AI advantage over China, immigration policy is at least as important as chip controls. Attract the best and brightest. Keep them here. Don't make it easier for them to do AI work in China than the US. Talent is vital.
