Notice one thing: in older Hindustani cinema (basically advanced version of nataks), they always managed to get the face right. Here, they wanted to portray Amir-ul Mumineen in a negative light, and they found the perfect face and make-up for it.
This khayal bandish was composed by Naimat Khan, a descendant of Nuabat Khan for Khalifah Muhammad Shah Bahadur: "O charming Muhamad Shah! O my beloved, charming Muhammad Shah! Now that you are absent, my beloved, neither the days nor the nights hold any charm for me."

Sad for Hindu women. They endure SA, DV, 🍇es by H men & are then forced to keep fasts for H men in their families as if they were gods. Hindutva libs brush it off through whataboutery, but ultimately, HWs have to endure all the persecution. They need urgent liberation.
I am all for #KarwaChauth debate as long as we are also debating religious dress codes and why most Muslim women and girls in India are still practicing hijab burqa? I will not debate the former while tiptoeing around the latter.

Disagree with Owaisi in many things but never mocked his "apni qayadat" slogan...
Even Palestinians in the Israeli parliament have their own independent political parties that have deadlocked all the blocs from forming a government. Indian Muslims do not. IMs are much more politically captive within Hindu system. Nobody wants to have this conversation.

Savarna radicals and liberals alike discuss blasphemy laws worldwide while ignoring that the most draconian blasphemy laws are imposed in India. And yet they label Sharjeel Imam a radical, terrorist and islamist for pointing this out.

Rajputs, Brahmins and other upper castes of Awadh would neither consume nor cultivate potatoes during the Mughal and Nawabi periods, condemning them an inferior food [as they grew underground as tubers]. This changed in the British Raj..
#Jainism #JainFood #JainDiet #JainAahar #JainLifestyle

What exactly are you trying to prove by misattributing Mirza Abbas's photograph to Aurangzeb, when your own Chhatrapatis and Maharajas looked like this?

Some will tell you that Khalifah Muhammad Shah was nicknamed Rangeela, as though it were an insult. They are victim of ignorance of terminological evolution (eg: laundiya meaning slave girl to a young girl). Rangeela was a compliment: Romantic / Charming

These whitewashed mosques, common across India, are far more elegant than they appear. Decades of neglect have obscured much of their original beauty.. limewash was a desperate attempt to stave off further structural deterioration.
The Panchakal Mosque, Arcot. Simple yet elegant. Next to the Green Stone Tomb of Nawab Saadatullah Khan.
