This "debate" that horror can't serve Christians blows my mind.
The Bible is filled with horror.
Rivers of blood. Bugs with human faces. Child sacrifice. Ghosts. Witches. The Devil betting a man's soul. Torture, execution and descent into Hell.
For less than the price of lunch (6.99 $) or cheaper than a candy bar (0.99 $), you can make an indie author's dream come true,
Or shatter it into a million pieces by leaving an eloquently worded negative review.
The choice is yours.

Alien is my favorite horror movie.
The psychosexual dynamics in set design and creature design are evocative on a primal level.
Visual, emotional storytelling at its best.
While the formula is classic slasher by today's comparision, the delivery is nightmare inducing.
Nosferatu, 1922, is the earliest film version Dracula to survive. And it's a knock-off.
It is my favorite silent film and one of my favorite black and white films.
A classic so distinct that it spawned a style of vampire.
Hellraiser ('87) is one of my favorite horrors.
While most horror movies focus on the monsters, Hellraiser keeps them mysterious.
The real horror comes from a family breaking under the weight of lust. The monsters exist to show where insatiatable desire leads.
Look yall, its spooky season.

All this talk of The Shining book versus movie got me thinkin'
While I do like the movie,
I dont like Stanley Kubrick overall.
I dont like FMJ, or 2001, or A Clockwork Orange (*he changed the message of the book) and I'm wary of anyone who would translate Lolita to film.
There is a line where a tragic victim ends and a villian (*a monster) begins.
That's the story of Carrie.
She doesn't overcome her darker nature. She gives in. Moreover, she revels in it.
To water down the message misses the point.
Carrie is a monster.
Have you ever imagined what it would be like to be the only person on earth?
Everything works.
Nothing spoils.
Total freedom.
Well, except from youself.
