Directionally correct.
Though a chat interface isn’t software’s final form either.
SaaS is dead. CsaS (custom software as a service) is the future.
No. People will not vibe code their own tools.
But the days of one size fit's all dashboards are dead. The days of "features" are done.
All high level SaaS will be sold as custom 1 to 1 builds for each company that uses it. All low level SaaS will have functionality that allows you to ad any feature you need.
The only thing that will matter is who has the best infrastructure and network to build on.
Any company that is still trying to win feature wars with a universal Ui for all their customers will be dead in 3 years.
LOIS’ citation granularity is second to none.
LOIS already checks citations for hallucinations as you draft.
But we are picky. If the citation isn’t exactly right, we flag it out of caution. Usually though, the cases are real, just not perfectly cited.
Now, you can click into an unverified citation (highlighted in light blue), and a case law lookup opens in the right panel. It shows full citations for opinions in our extensive library that might match. You can confirm you have the right opinion without leaving your draft.
We also made Skills even easier to build. Now LOIS can create, edit, activate and deactivate Skills on your behalf, right in chat. Like the output you saw from LOIS? Just say, “make this a new skill.” That’s it. No copy and paste.
Every user can easily build their own Skills to lock in and reuse their best prompts, and admins can build Skills for the whole firm to standardize processes and enforce AI guardrails.
Try writing a Skill with LOIS this week and tell us how it goes.
Everything else we shipped this week is here: filevine.com/updates/?utm_so…
Imagine if a company did both (deterministic and AI…and blended) SOTA level, right now at scale.
That’d be crazy
this is my issue with AI x law. the last thing I want as a lawyer is anything non-deterministic in my documents lol. it doesn't obey the skills even if you wrote the skills to try to make it behave
give me a rigid docgen template and an AI that can't do anything but input variables into the docgen, over generalized legal AI, any day of the week . . .
Totally agree with @parkerconrad.
We have to make the tokens more valuable. That’s like our whole damn job.
I see why @christinacaci is prioritizing distribution tho. Both things can be true.
Today we’re rolling out a new version of LOIS Reviews to every customer in Word.
Review is already one of the most-used parts of LOIS. And while we’re building a lot of new experiences, we also spend a lot of time making the things people already use substantially better.
Review sounds like a simple AI problem. And most products will give the model a doc and ask it to flag issues.
In practice, good legal review requires a lot more thought. You need to understand the document, know what matters to your particular firm, check different kinds of issues, and really understand both tone and nuance.
The new Review uses several agents at different stages of the process, with each one doing a more specific job. They can reason over the document together with your organization’s guidance and context, then turn that into comments you can actually act on in Word.
The result is a much better review. Our own legal team is loving it.
Take it for a spin and give us your thoughts.

Swap jobs to tasks and you are likely right.
But:
Look to coding. AI is basically 100% of coding now. I think for most companies. Certainly ours. But we are hiring MORE developers.
The surface area of code just exploded. Way more than 10x. Law will be the same.
Code is now often deployed in autonomous loops at Filevine.
Autonomy will happen in legal too. Soon 😏
But autonomy in legal will be different than code. Review and responsibility is essential.
Two updates with LOIS this week (many more linked in the change log below) but these two are close to my heart and go together.
It's wild how long exhibit binders take to put together. What if you could just tell LOIS to "put together the exhibit binder?"
One-shot exhibit curation and PDF building in LOIS Console turns case documents into a demand packet, all through chat, with one natural-language prompt.
Combine, split and reorder Word docs, spreadsheets, images, emails and PDFs
Break up a large record by provider or date range
Label exhibits and add a table of contents with clickable links
Apply Bates numbers with your own prefix
Fix a name, date or amount in an existing PDF
Any text LOIS adds follows common court formatting rules, down to leaving room for the filing stamp
LOIS tells you what it changed in the PDF, what it didn’t, and any assumptions it made
Intake a new case, just got a document dump? Organizing all those docs and filling out fields used to take hours. This sounds so stupid now.
Document Claimer lets you claim, rename and organize one document or many across multiple projects in a single prompt in LOIS console, and it puts each file in the right subfolder.
And of course, LOIS can fill out all the fields in your template with data from those docs.
Plenty more shipped this week. The full list: filevine.com/updates/?utm_so…
