5/6 and upgrading of critical infrastructure to improve effluent quality and system capacity. Since 2021, progress has been made in restoring functionality, reducing sewer spillages, and strengthening operational capacity through the provision of equipment, resources & training.

4/6 Ms Thokozani Boikhutso, Head of Bulk Sanitation at Rand Water, presented on the key deliverables of the Section 63 intervention in Emfuleni. The programme includes the refurbishment of pump stations and wastewater treatment works, replacement of collapsed pipelines….

3/6 The main objective of their oversight visit to Emfuleni Local Municipality is to interact with internal and external stakeholders to solicit their opinions on the progress and challenges of implementing Section 63 of the Water Services Act.

2/6 They were welcomed on site by the Chairperson of the Rand Water Board, Mr Ramateu Monyokolo, alongside members of the Board, Ms Zanele Monnakgotla and Ms Lethabo Mashamaite, as well as the Chief Operating Officer, Mr Mahlomola Mehlo, and the operations team.
