Time-honored, collective knowledge gathered by specialists, (fishers’ ecological knowledge), used in conjunction with traditional sampling significantly assists in life history studies in cases of data-deficient species and limited research funding. Well done Ryan and co-authors!

Congratulations to the authors of another very interesting paper entitled "Are recreational fishing guides role models for their clients?" "...to develop fishing guides into effective “agents of change” in the global social movement of recreational angler self-reform."
Congratulations to Dr Michelle Soekoe, Dr Malcolm Smale and Prof. Warren Potts for the publication of their paper entitled: Highly conserved tooth morphology in allopatric elasmobranch populations despite contrasting diets—a case of Triakis megalopterus in southern Africa.

Primary findings: Air exposure time should be reduced to below 75 s, and ideally to 10 s to minimise the physiological stress response, reflex impairment and short-term survival of A. japonicus following C&R angling. Congratulations to these authors! authors.elsevier.com/c/1f64r…
