Congratulations to Justice Cheri Beasley on her appointment to serve as Chief Justice of the North Carolina state Supreme Court. Beasley, a member of the Triangle Park (NC) Chapter, will be the first black woman to hold the position.

December 1 is World AIDS Day. Extremely high rates of new HIV infections are found in the South and among African Americans specifically. Let’s work to fight stigma, encourage testing and provide treatment for those living with HIV. Spread the word and save lives.
