Jonathan Tjarks and I became friends while working at SB Nation in 2012. I cherish the nights we spent watching basketball together.
I wrote about what Tjarks' friendship meant to me, and the towering legacy of kindness he leaves behind. Rest easy, buddy

Really cool site from Spencer here with so much to dig into. One thing that caught my eye: Caleb Wilson is No. 15 in the league in defensive value added.

Player tracked data, advanced metrics, basic box scores, and more for each game (plus season-long) will all be found below. I'm continuing to build things out, so bear with me.

Is nba dot com slash scores not loading the box score video clips for anyone else or is that a me problem?
Cooper Flagg not starting the second half for the Mavericks. He headed to the locker room after a flagrant-1 foul on a fastbreak by Aaron Nesmith. Flagg looked great in the first half, let's hope he's okay.
Really solid first half minutes from Zaccharie Risacher. His length plays defensively all over the court, and he's running the floor hard when he gets the chance. Would be cool to see him turn it around in Dallas.
Mavs drop 44 in the first quarter to take the air out of the building a bit. Dallas shot the lights out, but the Pacers' defense looked totally out of sorts. Rick Carlisle is very much still searching for lineup answers early in the season.
Insane pop for Tyrese Haliburton’s first home game back. What a treat to be in the building for it. Thanks to Pacers PR for being so accommodating.
Pacers-Mavs tipping off now.
Fun-Bad is more fun when you win. Props to Splitter for making the right lineup decisions down the stretch. Caleb Wilson was a monster in the second half, great Leonard Miller game, and an encouraging night for Essengue. The team showed some fight.
Matas and Giddey both benched in crunch time during one of the few winnable games on the Bulls’ early season schedule. Rough start to the season for both of them, and that’s an understatement. I do think Tre Jones / Leonard Miller give the Bulls a better chance to win right now.
I have no idea if Tiago Splitter is a decent coach, but I absolutely love how he’s using Essengue tonight
I’m in Indy for Pacers-Mavericks tonight. It’s going to be rocking for Tyrese Haliburton’s home return.
Cooper Flagg getting loose pre-game:
I was feeling a little too good about myself after that Caleb Williams masterclass last night so I needed the Bulls to bring me back down to earth
Caleb Williams proved he’s already a top-5 QB last night and if you disagree with this you can argue with a wall
A couple of my 'overreactions after one game' from last year's column actually came true. This year's story includes a Bulls take that I'm sure some of you will hate.
