For a Sad Foot Season, we are incredibly honored to have this Happy Foot Community. Thank you guys for building this stupid show with us. WE LOVE YOU BYEEEE!
I can’t believe this was 5 years ago. @LAFC and @HaFoSaFo have really given Kym and I an extended family who has gotten us through tough times and we are so thankful. #lafc #mls

My wife Kym and I met Mark after a game and enjoyed talking soccer with him. Such a nice guy! So happy the HaFoSaFo guys got to sit down with him. We’ve supported them for years, they’re so fun and always have something up their sleeves. Great job dudes! Check em out! #mls #lafc

A few years ago, when we really got into @LAFC, we were fortunate to meet this fantastic man and player, Ilie Sánchez. Every time we meet, he remembers my blindness and vocal cord condition and leans in to hear what I’m saying. 1/2
We’ve missed him since he signed with Austin in 2025, so reconnecting in LA this week was really cool. It’s special when athletes go beyond the game to connect with fans. Someone at the stadium captured this photo and shared it on Facebook. So awesome! Thank you, Ilie! #LAFC 2/2
There was literally just a pause in commentary during extra time. Easily over a minute long. Yikes #worldcup #fox

This also highlights a bigger issue. Too many TV soccer broadcasts leave long stretches with almost no description of the action because they’re designed for viewers. Radio commentators understand that words paint the picture. Especially @TalkSoccer @joey_zana #mls @mls #fifa
As a blind soccer fan, I have to give @FIFAWorldCup credit for its Audio Description app. This is world-class broadcasting that goes over and beyond normal commentary. Describing the game, crowd, uniform colors, etc. I hope this becomes the global standard. #worldcup #fifa #usa
One thing I love, that I’ve never really heard before, is how the commentators use the “D” as a landmark. They’ll say the ball lands in the circle or the player lines up by the D. As a blind listener, that instantly creates a mental map of where the play is developing. Brilliant.

@iamMarioRuiz Hey Mario, do you know why the in stadium radio receiver wouldn’t be picking up Dave’s feed? #lafc @lafc
Hey all, I could use your help with something fun and positive!
Our cat Leonard is up for America’s favorite pet and needs votes to win!
Can you help?

Today Kym and I make the move from Pasadena to La Verne to be closer to family. Though we never thought we’d leave Pasadena, we know it’s the right move due to my health changes.
We want to thank all who have assisted us financially through these tough times and the expensive road ahead. We can’t express enough how much we appreciate your generosity and words of support.
So many devastating things happened at the same time and your support is helping us get through it all.

Hears to a happy new year and good health.

I am so thankful to the Happy Foot Sad Foot @lafc podcast for their unbelievable support.
This holiday season has been quite difficult with many new health issues and life style changes. HaFoSaFo really made a big difference along with their community of listeners to help us cover thousands of unexpected costs.
We have a long way to go to have everything handled and to find in home support at an affordable cost, but with your help, we are getting there.
Can’t wait for the 2026 season to help me get through the tough days a little easier.
Here’s my favorite LAFC photo. Sporting the Happy Foot scarf too.
Thank you! 🖤💛

An LAFC community staple and longtime caller/listener to the show desperately needs your help. After a medical emergency, he can no longer eat or drink normally, and the financial strain is overwhelming. Please please please consider donating a few dollars: gofund.me/3d6d0f126
4 years ago LAFC invited me to my first soccer game and filmed this short doc throughout the night.
As a blind person, I always had a hard time following soccer commentary, mostly due to down time during games. LAFC’s Dave Denholm changed that barrier for me. He calls games in a way that makes it very exciting. Even the downtime is enjoyable.
I instantly became a huge fan of LAFC, became obsessed about learning everything about the sport through Dave’s commentary, and wanting to go to as many games as possible.
My wife Kym and I have been fortunate to experience several games over these 4 years and have enjoyed becoming part of the LAFC community, where we have made wonderful friends.
In a time of a health crisis the last 2.5 weeks, the LAFC community has come up huge to hold me up through some very difficult times. They haven’t just offer amazing words of support, they have also contributed to help Kym and I cover some very large medical bills and other expenses we will be facing for years to come.
I can not fully explain how much the support means to Kym and I. It’s a beautiful group of fans, and I am so thankful to have found a new family who accepts me and holds me up.
Thank you LAFC, you are much larger than a football club. I’m eternally grateful. 🦯 🦮 ⚽️ 🖤 💛

I appreciate the DMs asking how to help. If you’re able, a donation will help with unpaid leave, moving costs to be closer to family for my care, medical expenses for equipment and supplies.
Thank you so much. ❤️

After a tough Saturday filled with pain, little sleep, and some emotional breakdowns, today has been a really good day.
A home nurse came by yesterday and adjusted my feeding tube. Almost instantly the pain dropped from about a 6 to a 1 or 2. That change alone made a huge difference. I finally got a solid night of sleep, and I am starting to find a rhythm with my tube feeds, which has been one of the harder adjustments to schedule and manage.
I am also finding support groups, learning new tricks to make feeds easier, and honestly, having the sun shining has done wonders for my mindset. I even got in a shower and shave without feeling like fainting (it felt nagical). Small wins matter right now.
Christmas is my favorite time of year, and since we are temporarily staying with my parents, it has been really refreshing to be part of the holiday energy again. The tree is going up, and I am excited to decorate and set up the train with my family. Today feels positive, and I live for days like this.
I know there will be tough days ahead. Days when I crave foods I cannot have, struggle with feeds or just general depression. But days like today give me hope that I can still build a healthy and fulfilling life, even if it looks different than before.
The generosity shown by friends, family, and the #lafc community through our GoFundMe has been incredibly meaningful. One of the biggest worries for Kym and me has been how we would manage the cost of equipment, supplies, home modifications and the time she needs to take off to care for me. The support we have received has helped ease that fear more than you know.
Thank you to everyone who has checked in, sent messages, donated, or simply kept us in your thoughts and prayers. It truly makes a difference.
Here’s to the positive days ahead and having the strength to get through the tough ones. Appreciate you all.

The generosity has been incredible this week. Mine and Kym’s lives were flipped upside down when we learned that I’d be forced to be on a feeding tube for life. If you are able to help us navigate the major medical costs we face, we’d be eternally grateful gofund.me/af6589808
I am so honored to be mentioned in this episode’s intro. Thanks to the great #lafc podcast for all they do, through my struggles, they are right there to help.
If you aren’t a listener or subscriber, come see what you’ve been missing! 🖤 💛
