1/ The UofSC College of Nursing (CON), including its dean, Jeannette Andrews, who is quoted in this article, has intentionally infused the nursing program with social justice and DEI, according to her own words. Andrews is co-author of a 2021 paper with UofSC nursing faculty describing the overhaul of the CON to expose nursing students to a curriculum that focuses on social justice and DEI through social determinants of health (SDOH). SDOH are, everything and anything that impacts health, like transportation, housing, microaggressions, nutrition, pollution, racism, voting access, etc. It puts health departments, like SC DPH, in a powerful, centralized role for implementing global policies across our social sectors, funded by taxpayers.

I don't believe that SC can cut income taxes and still expand social services and entitlements as outlined in the long-term multi-sector "health and racial equity" plan being implemented through SC Department of Public Health, SCDES, and partners in the universities and health sector. Then there are the economic growth plans & UN SDG-inspired "climate change" green energy pursuits via SC Commerce (& partners Energy, etc.) that also involve "energy justice" for low income resident, costly energy efficient construction requirements, etc. SC is creating a bloated, social justice-oriented state system, just as we find in blue states. It will take money from the pockets of working citizens to pay for it. The pressure on "Republican" officials to buy in will now be supercharged after the recent election, whereas they just rubber stamped it before.

Good read
I started looking into “citizens’ assemblies” after seeing Data Republican’s Democracy Files. What I found is a coordinated push to treat small, lottery-selected groups as more legitimate than elected legislatures or ordinary voters, and to convert their recommendations into law. Understand the implications of what happened in Texas last night. Gina Hinojosa has called on Gov. Abbott to end state & local cooperation with ICE & she can order that on day one. Hinojosa voted against the 2017 SB 4 as a TX state rep. The bill was essentially a sanctuary cities ban and required TX law enforcement to cooperate with ICE detainers. She then voted against another SB 4 in 2023, which made it a state crime to cross illegally into Texas. Should there be another border crisis in coming years, there will likely be no resistance from Texas at the border. No Texas DPS, no TX National Guard, no razor wire or water buoys, and no Operation Lone Star, which Hinojosa called a “dog and pony show” and “political theater”. Remember when 15,000 Haitians surged illegally into Del Rio, TX in 2021 under the international bridge? That was only stopped because Texas DPS responded on Abbott’s orders and physically blocked further crossings by lining up their cruisers to form a wall. The Biden Border Patrol was caught off guard and offered almost no resistance, except for some horseback agents who were falsely slandered for “whipping”. Additionally, because Republicans failed to pass any legislation codifying President Trump’s border security measures, if Dems take the White House in 2028, that Dem president could, if he/she wants to, reverse every single Trump border security policy immediately upon taking office because they were all done at the executive level, and they can order Border Patrol to go back to a passive catch & release policy like we saw under Biden.

A South Carolina nonprofit is raising money to help women get around the state’s heartbeat law, and on Saturday night it took the fundraising to the bars. The Palmetto State Abortion Fund’s “Abortions After Dark” crawl through the Vista is just the latest pitch. Its merch declares “It’s my patriotic duty to assist abortion seekers,” and its Halloween line promises to “Hex the patriarchy, Vex the GOP.” It has posted public appeals to pay for abortions for minors. According to undercover footage, a PSAF volunteer drove a girl she believed was 15 from the Myrtle Beach Mall to Planned Parenthood without her parents knowing. Its executive director is a Pittsburgh native and Democratic political consultant. She now draws a paycheck from both PSAF and Planned Parenthood. PSAF raised $601,369 last year, nearly six times what it raised in 2022. Its donors are concentrated from places like Chicago, New York, and California. This is talk straight from the universities, departments where DEI has the greatest hold, usually education, library science & journalism, women’s studies, nursing, some social sciences. Even in red states. Outside of that, “racial equity” (anti-capitalism) organizations (like GARE).

@awkward_gay Please check with @fitsnews and @IAmNickReynolds who have previously written about it. I recall from my own poking around that the parent group has ties to some interesting groups. I asked Grok to provide a basic analysis of what’s going on at @TheSCForum, including naming some funders. Here’s what Grok provided. Thanks for the prompting! “The South Carolina Forum’s Civic Assembly is not simply a gathering of ordinary residents producing unfiltered ideas. It was created and is run by political operators, and the process is structured so that organizers, experts, and sitting lawmakers help shape what comes out of it. Andrew Shue (through the national nonprofit The People) launched the effort with co-chairs Trav Robertson, the former chair of the South Carolina Democratic Party, and Dave Wilson, a longtime Republican strategist. Current state legislators from both parties serve as official Legislative Advisors and are involved in keeping the proposals practical. The parent organization has received substantial funding from center-left sources, including the Skoll Foundation, contributions tied to Democratic fundraiser Andrew Burkle, and the Bohemian and Rockefeller Foundations. The roughly 100 people who meet for three days are chosen by lottery, but only from a pool of those who signed up through an interest form or took part in earlier online and in-person stages. Organizers say they use a stratified sample meant to match the state’s demographics and political mix, and they state that participants are not a hand-picked group of activists. In practice, the people willing to register for multi-day civic events tend to be more politically engaged than the average resident. The assembly also hears from experts and works with facilitators and the legislative advisors; organizers have described the advisors’ role as helping steer proposals so they remain realistic. Earlier public input is filtered through the organization’s platform and analytics before it reaches the room. The result is an unelected, temporary body that generates advisory recommendations for the elected General Assembly. The lottery and demographic goals distinguish it from a purely appointed committee, but the originating leadership, agenda-setting, expert framing, facilitation, and direct involvement of sitting legislators mean the final proposals are guided rather than a pure, unmediated product of everyday South Carolinians.”

Um, what? Are we normalizing this shadow legislation-proposing body organized by political insiders and funded by left-of-center outside organizations dedicated to “saving democracy”? Surely, it’s filled with “regular folks” and probably no activists, right? And the process is guided by neutral policy experts? It’s fine. 😒

To “protest” against weak Republicans by helping Democrats win the general election is not a protest—it is national suicide. Perhaps you could make such an argument a hundred years ago—but that hasn’t been reality for a long time. Reality is that Democrats will IMMEDIATELY fling open the border to mass invasion, tax you more so third-world illegals consume even more of your resources, poison your kids’ minds and mutilate their bodies, murder a lot more babies, and reinstate woke racism and Marxist poison everywhere, especially in the irreversible judiciary which has become the Founders’ feared despotism. Is that what you want? Because that is what you’ll get. Play stupid games; win stupid prizes—and destroy America for the rest of us. RIDICULOUS. I personally paid the price for this, so I know the stakes and I can promise we don’t want the sequel—it will be much worse. My suffering has been more than bad enough. Let’s buckle up and urge everyone to get out the vote 🗳️ to DEFEAT THE DEMOCRATS. Then, we engage those voters in the next primary cycle and improve the GOP. That’s how American politics actually functions. We need men of courage and faith to stand up and lead. The battle is here—the moment is NOW. @PatriotPlea @DataRepublican

How Weak Men Come About It starts at home. The household is rich and civilized, and that is often understood as a sophisticated softness and smoothness. Feminine values take over. The mother rules at home and can afford to give her boy everything: to fulfil his every whim, to do everything for him. And so she does. With one child per family, it is often six adults – two parents, four grandparents – serving one boy. So the boy gets everything, for free, and immediately. He never takes the marshmallow test, because there is never anything to wait for. He never fails, because no one lets him. A boy becomes a man by meeting resistance, and his home has removed all of it. And where is the father? Sometimes gone after a divorce, a weekend visitor. But even when he stays, he is gone. He leaves in the morning for abstract work the boy cannot see or relate to: meetings, emails, a screen. For thousands of years, a boy watched his father work, then worked beside him, then took over. He learned from older men by doing, and one day they told him: now you are a man. That apprenticeship has disappeared, and nobody ever tells him. Then come the group dynamics at school. If the majority of boys already start like that, it becomes a self-reinforcing behavioral norm. Boys want to belong, so they all act soft. The one who wants to stay strong ends up alone, and loses. The predominantly female teaching staff reinforces it. The men teachers, a small minority, end up dominated by the feminine atmosphere of the school. There are no trees to climb and no fights to settle – the playground is padded. Competition becomes suspect, risk becomes a safety violation, and the restless boy who once got a football field now gets a diagnosis. The leftist curriculum only adds to that, teaching the boy that his strength is a problem to be managed. Meanwhile the screen gives him everything a man used to fight for, for free. Video games give victory without a fight. Porn gives sex without courting a woman. Likes give status without achieving anything. Why pay the real price when the fake one costs nothing? So he doesn’t. Then the leftist academia finishes him off. Three more years of learning that the men who built his civilization were oppressors, and that the right answer is always the softest one. Then the HR-dominated corporate world simply keeps him that way. Promotion goes to whoever offends no one. The man who says the plan is bad is "not a team player". What school started, the office maintains for forty years. The propaganda reinforces every mechanism along the way. In films, sitcoms and ads, the father is the idiot whom the wife and kids correct, and strength is either a joke or a threat. The boy learns early what a man is supposed to be. And at the end, the state takes the last role he had left. It provides for the mother, so the provider becomes unnecessary. A man nobody needs has no reason to be strong. And so it goes. Our men end up weak. This is not because they were born weak. It is because every institution they passed through rewarded softness and punished strength, from the first toy to the last performance review. That is why we are being conquered by Muslims who laugh at us, seeing all of that.
"Hard Times Create Strong Men" – Where the Meme Really Comes From Everyone has seen it: hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times. The wording comes from a 2016 survival novel. The idea is six centuries older, and it was written by a man most of the West has never heard of. 1. The man. Ibn Khaldun was born in Tunis in 1332. He was a historian, a judge, a diplomat, a courtier and a prisoner, and he served and survived half the courts of North Africa and Spain. In 1401, when Tamerlane besieged Damascus, the old historian had himself lowered down the city walls on ropes to go and meet the conqueror. The man who studied conquerors went to interview the greatest one alive. 2. The bond. His key word is asabiyyah, the bond: the feeling of a group whose members would die for each other. Desert tribes have it because they must. They have no walls and no police, only each other. City people lose it because they no longer need it. So strength is not muscle. Strength is the bond. This is Civilization: people bound to one another, building something that outlives them. 3. The four generations. A dynasty lasts about four generations. The builder knows what it cost. His son knew the builder and keeps the standards. The grandson imitates without understanding, following rules whose reasons he never saw. The great-grandson thinks greatness is his birthright and despises the effort that built it – and then he destroys it. 4. Everyone knows it. The Germans say: acquire, inherit, ruin. The English say: shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves in three generations. The Chinese say wealth does not survive three generations. You have seen it in a family business too: the founder’s grandson with the Porsche and the "vision". 5. The tax curve. Ibn Khaldun also noticed that at the start of a dynasty taxes are low and revenue is high, while at the end taxes are high and revenue is low, because people stop bothering to work. That is the Laffer curve, six hundred years early. Reagan quoted him on it in 1981. 6. The West. The generation of 1945 rebuilt Europe from rubble. Their children kept the standards. Their grandchildren imitate the forms – elections, institutions, speeches – without the bond. And now an heir generation is taught to despise the inheritance. Ibn Khaldun even described the next step: the declining dynasty hires others to defend it. Europe outsourced its defense decades ago. 7. The correction. The meme is wrong in one place. Hard times do not create strong men. They create strong bonds, and the bond makes the men strong. Good times do not weaken men only through comfort. They weaken them by making the bond unnecessary – family replaced by the state, the tribe replaced by the screen. Hard times will come anyway. They will not make us strong. They will only find out whether we are still a Civilization – or just a population.

Nearly a century ago, BMW collaborated closely with Hitler's National Socialist regime and profited handsomely from the German war economy during World War II, in an era when "Kauft nicht bei Juden" was the order of the day. How historically illiterate can one be at BMW's Munich headquarters, under the owning families Quandt and Klatten of all people, given that key members of the Quandt family were active members of the Nazi Party and deeply involved in Hitler's war economy? BMW, already under strain, with its stock down 45% this year alone and still falling, has just withdrawn its offer of an official car for Saxony-Anhalt's state parliament president after AfD politician Tobias Rausch was elected to the post. Instead of finally staying out of politics in light of its own dark Nazi past, BMW cannot help itself and has to meddle again. Back then it was the National Socialists BMW made common cause with. Today it is apparently the socialists of red-red-green, the center-left wing of the CDU/CSU and other woke groups that the company wants to align itself with, under the leftist Brandmauer-style slogan "don't sell to AfD members." Business should stay out of party politics, a lesson BMW of all companies should have learned by now from its neck-deep political involvement in the Third Reich. But even leaving the history lesson aside, that is not a lofty principle for a global company. It is common sense for anyone who sells to the whole country and beyond, and who has to defend its home market against increasingly successful Chinese brands and, above all, against @ElonMusk, who, oh irony, is a major AfD supporter and a strong @Alice_Weidel fan. So a major German company declaring, in effect, "we do not sell to AfD members" is something else entirely, and completely out of place in a democratic country. The firm is closely tied to the Nazi era, rose in those years to become one of the most important armaments manufacturers of Hitler's Third Reich, built aero engines for the Luftwaffe and used tens of thousands of forced laborers, including concentration camp prisoners. Its workforce grew from around 6,000 in 1933 to 56,000 in 1944 at the height of wartime production, roughly half of them forced labor, and revenue climbed from 32.5 million Reichsmarks in 1933 to 750 million by 1944. A company with that dark political history now pandering to the socialists of the day once again, with this kind of gesture, is not only foolish. It is repugnant and historically illiterate. Because once again it is the left that poses the greatest danger to Jews in Germany. Back then it was the National Socialists. Today it is the radical socialists of red-red-green and their Jew-hating immigrant supporters, and even surveys of German Jews themselves name Muslim and left-wing milieus as the main source of the hostility they actually face in everyday life and on the streets of Germany. Look no further than the looming red-red-green coalition in Berlin and the proximity of those parties to open antisemitism. For BMW, the decision can speed up a decline that is already underway. Picking a fight at home with 30% to 40% of the electorate is a stupid mistake and poor business. The AfD already polls at 31% nationwide, with a current INSA potential of 36.5% once voting intention and reserve are added. In some states it already sits between a whopping 40% and 50%, and the trend is still up. By contrast, the $BMW share keeps falling and is down almost half this year, now trading only slightly above 50 euros, with tens of billions in market value already wiped out and no bottom in sight. So whether it is wise to alienate such a large share of the home market right now, of all times, is not a hard question. The woke leftist constituencies BMW appears to be courting with this anti-AfD course cannot buy anywhere near enough cars to replace the orders now being cancelled by conservative and right-wing customers all over Germany and beyond. On social media the backlash is already running, and BMW is in for a rude awakening. And by the way, speaking of fate loving irony, since BMW chose to target Elon Musk's favorite German party of all parties: his Tesla Model Y was Germany's best-selling car in September 2026, not merely the best-selling electric car, far ahead of any competitor, and BMW trails Tesla by an even wider margin than VW does. So Munich might want to take a more modest tone and, this time, stay out of politics. The better alternative to a BMW is already on the road, and it comes with AI-powered Full Self-Driving technology that BMW drivers can only dream of. So there is no other way to put it: BMW has maneuvered itself into a dangerous political corner, historically illiterate once again. Bud Light, Target, Cracker Barrel, Nike and Jaguar are the precedents. Perhaps BMW's Munich headquarters has already forgotten that Jaguar registered just two (2) new cars in the EU in the first eight months of 2026, down from 2,845 a year earlier. Go woke, go broke, as Elon Musk and Donald Trump like to say in America, gloatingly, but not without reason. For BMW, though, this is about far more than a further financial slide and a share price that will most likely keep falling in what is already a very difficult time for German carmakers. It is, in part, about finally standing on the right side of history for once instead of choosing the wrong side yet again. Or, if BMW's own history shows that the company has no understanding of politics and no instinct for picking the right side, about simply staying out of politics and remaining neutral. Cobbler, stick to your last. Or, as Elon Musk asked a suddenly woke Jaguar in 2024: "Do you sell cars?" teapawt.net/elonmusk/status/185891…
