A ameaça do fascismo é real.

Breaking: The city of São Paulo, population 12 million, has 29% of its bus fleet out of service on election day. Bolsonarista Mayor. Lula won there in first round. Pattern repeating around country.

The Trump administration’s cuts to weather satellites will set the country back nearly a decade, experts say. The loss of data used to observe, forecast and research extreme weather could prevent the US from making major advances in weather prediction in the coming years. cnn.it/4k6eD4o

This design appears to completely eliminate the much-beloved loop road and public park at Hains Point, and cut down the cherry trees which line the road. The park is a public space used by tens of thousands of Washingtonians and heavily visited by tourists. /photos not my own.

I cannot stop thinking about three families who sent their children to elementary school this morning and will never bring them home again. So spare me the fucking thoughts and prayers. Spare me the speeches about how now isn't the time to talk about guns. And spare me the politicians who have spent YEARS refusing meaningful gun-safety laws while telling the rest of us that massacred children are somehow the unavoidable price America must pay for their interpretation of the Second Amendment. FUCK THAT. Children being slaughtered in their elementary school is not the price of freedom. It is a fucking national disgrace. And don't even start with “if the teachers were armed.” They're TEACHERS. They went to work today to teach children how to read and multiply and make friends. They are not fucking marksmen. Turning an elementary school into a crossfire because politicians refuse to confront America's gun problem isn't a solution. It's insanity. Three children are dead. Three families have been destroyed. Hundreds of other little kids just experienced something no child should ever see. So to every politician who blocks meaningful gun-safety laws and then races to a microphone after another classroom fills with blood: Keep your fucking thoughts and prayers. Do your fucking job. cnn.com/2026/10/15/us/oregon…

If you or I called in a fake homicide tip, fraudulently applied for 20 visas and hacked websites, we’d be arrested and prosecuted. The same standard must apply to AI CEOs. Prosecute CEOs when their products break the law and pause advanced AI NOW.

Democrats should be running this as an ad for the midterms
JENNINGS: Let's say Democrats take the House. How sure are you that they would immediately move to impeach President Trump? MIKE JOHNSON: It's guaranteed. Probably on the first day.

I came across a post on Reddit that said: “AI’s underlying purpose is to let wealth access skill while taking away the skilled person’s ability to access wealth.” I don’t think I’ve ever seen the economic implications of AI put so incisively.

for years now we've been deluged with opinion pieces & full-length books about how young men are so sad/isolated/afraid to approach girls & women/oppressed by feminists & #MeToo/victims of a cruel anti-male culture ad nauseam; yet, as we see here, these entitled young men at Cornell had not the slightest hesitation or the mildest anxiety about committing a group rape of an intoxicated young woman, a classmate of theirs. please spare us any more of those pathetic opinion & books pieces about sad young men pining away in loneliness & fear of girls & women. & especially, please spare us blaming girls & women for their being so sad & oppressed.

This pic is from another thread. It's disgusting that no one helped her. No one stepped up and said, this isn't right.
