Iran’s Deputy Secretary of the SNSC says security was the most important topic at today's quadrilateral meeting between Iran, KSA, Turkiye, and Pakistan.
He says Iran won’t ignore the assassination of its martyred leader.
The assassination of Iran’s leader sets a dangerous precedent for other countries.
He argues that recent events have proven that neither alliances with the US nor normalization with Israel can guarantee regional security (as an indirect message to regional countries trusting the US).

Some interesting points by an Iranian analyst regarding the quadrilateral meeting today in Tehran.
The points I found interesting:
Iran agreed to the meeting initiative strictly as the “Tehran Meeting,” not under the Mecca Pact framework.
Iran discussed ending the war and reducing tensions, but Iran’s stance toward the US and its 7 conditions remained unchanged.
The talks could pave the way for acceptance of Iran’s security demands regarding the Strait of Hormoz with Oman, provided Saudi Arabia demonstrates goodwill and stops obstructing progress.
Iran is willing to mediate, but AnsarAllah will continue fighting until Saudi Arabia accepts its conditions.
All parties expressed concerns over Israel’s actions in the region, though no unified agenda.
چند نکته درباره نشست چهار جانبه تهران
۱. ایران با برگزاری این نشست خارج از چارچوب پیمان مکه موافقت کرد. در واقع، تهران این ابتکار را در قالب «نشست تهران» پذیرفت، نه پیمان مکه!
۲. ایران نشست تهران را در چارچوب ایده امنیت درون‌زای منطقه‌ای تعریف کرد. به همین دلیل، پرونده‌های منطقه‌ای از جمله یمن، لبنان، فلسطین، امنیت خلیج فارس و تنگه هرمز در دستور گفت‌وگوها قرار گرفت.
۳. در این نشست درباره کاهش تنش‌های منطقه‌ای و پایان جنگ نیز گفت‌وگو شد؛ با این حال، موضع قبلی ایران در برابر آمریکا و شروط هفت‌گانه تهران تغییری نکرد.
۴. در این نشست هیچ گفت‌وگویی درباره پرونده هسته‌ای ایران انجام نشد.
۵. یکی از نتایج احتمالی این نشست می‌تواند پذیرش نگرانی‌های امنیتی ایران و ترتیبات موردنظر تهران در تنگه هرمز (توافق ایران و عمان) باشد؛ البته به شرط آنکه عربستان حسن نیت خود را نشان دهد و مانند قبل کارشکنی نکند!
۶. ایران در پرونده یمن برای میانجی‌گری و کمک به حل بحران آمادگی دارد؛ اما انصارالله شروطی دارد که تا زمان پذیرش آن‌ها از سوی عربستان، جنگ را ادامه خواهد داد!
۷. طرفین در این نشست نگرانی‌های خود را درباره ماجراجویی‌های اسرائیل در منطقه به اشتراک گذاشتند؛ اما این به معنای برخورداری از اهداف و دستورکار واحد نیست!
۸. بسیار زود است در رابطه با نتایج این نشست قضاوت کرد؛ اما به نظر نمی‌رسد اعتماد جایگزین بی‌اعتمادی و همکاری جایگزین رقابت شده باشد! در خاورمیانه کنونی منطق نشست‌ها بیشتر برای مدیریت بحران و تنش یا دوری از تبعات آن است تا حل آن‌ها!

Just by the way, internet culture can be so hilarious. Brazil's election results were announced at 10pm last night.
Yet there are countless tweets, comments, emails, etc. all over the place claiming I "disappeared" or went "silent" to avoid commenting: lol.
I spent all morning today in interviews on the election, including on Piers Morgan's show. I woke up, read about and assessed the results, spoke with people I respect, then wrote a long article I just published: 16 hours after the election results
But if you don't instantly tweet your take, it means you're in hiding. That's funny.
Also, it's not as if my "takes" were wrong and I had to hide from them. To the contrary, I long thought the narrative was far too certain about a Bolsonaro victory. I spent all week warning that a Lula defeat was far less certain than was being depicted, and argued why nobody should ever bet against Lula and the PT machine that he has built. These were from Saturday. Why would I hide from these?

I”m w/ @BisforBerkshire-not having a K12 policy agenda is a cop out. There are plenty of things Mamdani could do in addition to making schools greener or providing families w/health care, housing, etc. Kids spend much of their lives in school & what happens there matters a lot.
