NITI Aayog has released the report “Reimagining Skilling for Viksit Bharat@2047”, presenting an in-depth, evidence-based mapping of India’s skilling ecosystem and outlining a blueprint for a Reimagined Skilling Architecture.
The report identifies key challenges and calls for greater convergence across school education, higher education, technical education, and skilling systems. It outlines five strategic core reforms focused on employability, entrepreneurship and vocational exposure; stronger industry linkages; outcome-linked programmes; mainstreaming apprenticeships; and improved guidance for informed skilling choices.
The report also identifies four system enablers: a Digital Skills Passport, outcome-based financing, adoption of the National Credit Framework, and skills-first policies with inclusive infrastructure to promote skills-based hiring and improve access.
Together, these reforms and enablers aim to create a more integrated, flexible, industry-aligned, and future-ready skilling ecosystem to support India’s workforce and advance the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.

At the National Conference on Goan Architecture & Sustainability: Heritage, Climate Resilience & the Goa Model of Sustainable Building, Prof. (Dr.) M. Srinivas, Member (Health), NITI Aayog, highlighted that architecture is a powerful determinant of health. He emphasized that climate-responsive design, natural light, and cross-ventilation are not merely architectural features, but evidence-based interventions that improve patient outcomes, reduce healthcare-associated infections, and strengthen health system resilience.
Drawing on the example of Kangaroo Mother Care, where a mother's warmth and skin-to-skin contact serve as a natural therapeutic intervention to improve newborn survival and recovery, along with the successful transformation of hostels into patient wards at ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Hyderabad, and TB care facilities designed with optimal ventilation, he underscored how thoughtful design that harnesses natural elements can accelerate healing while promoting sustainability.
As India advances towards #ViksitBharat2047, integrating health into sustainable architecture will be key to building healthier, greener, and more resilient communities.
