Reminder that this started this morning! Avoid the beaches during high tides, keep farther back from the ocean than usual (waves will run much farther up the beach that expected), stay off rock walls/jetties, and make sure flood-prone property is protected this week.
Tides of 7.5+ ft MLLW are expected Monday through Thursday during the morning high tide next week. Even without a notable swell, significant coastal flooding is expected. Make sure to heed the advice of local officials and take appropriate action to protect property. #CAwx

A low pressure system will develop over the West Coast in the coming days, leading to a cooling pattern beginning Thursday into the weekend. This system may interact with an area of potential active weather to our south / west over the Pacific Ocean.

Light rain may begin as early as Thursday night (but some may stay dry through Friday 🤷). The interaction and path of these 2 weather systems will be key in how much rain occurs and when. Please be prepared for a wetter than usual Halloween weekend as you start to make plans 🎃

On October 20, we were proud to honor three exceptional dispatchers who continue to strengthen our community through their leadership and dedication. Emily Ceron, Victoria Fencl, and Jessica Gonzales were recognized at the 9-1-1 Heroes Awards for their roles in shaping the curriculum and helping launch the Responder Ready Academy, a free program that introduces high school students to future careers in public safety communications. Their commitment to guiding and inspiring the next generation of 9-1-1 professionals is making a lasting impact. Assistant Sheriff Lopez presented the awards, celebrating their vision, hard work, and service to both the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office and the youth of San Diego County. Congratulations to Emily, Victoria, and Jessica on this well-deserved recognition!📞
