It’s not just the non-DUP voters though. It’s every parent that has had to watch him post on social media whilst our education system is in dire straits, with “300 million funding gap” as per Richard Pengelly’s letter to school leaders, but I know I don’t need to tell you that!

What happens to our severely disabled children when we're gone weighs heavy on all of us parents.
It's the ever present worry that every abuse or neglect scandal, avoidable death & now assisted dying brings to the fore.
Terrified of our children dying both before us & after us.

2024 Prog for Gov promises some of the SEN reforms we've long fought for:
- Earlier support
- Streamlined assessments
- Enhanced SEN training for educators
- More in-school resources
- Cross-dept collaboration
A step forward, but we'll keep pushing until this becomes reality.

ALT An infographic titled 'Better Support for Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs' outlines the issue of a growing number of SEN pupils with insufficient improvements in outcomes. The government plans systemic transformation with a focus on early intervention, building trust, better school support, and workforce training. Key actions include earlier identification of SEN, evidence-based practice, and cross-department collaboration.
We will launch our SENcircle Wellness Sessions in Sept 2024. We have received funding to facilitate wellness sessions (holistic therapies, relaxing activities etc) for parents/carers of children who have additional needs. Dates/times TBC, however will be during school hours.
