We strongly suggest you watch the important and excellently presented evidence Ruth Breslin gave in support of Ash Regan's #Unbuyable bill.
Her explanation of the reality of the sex trade and the profiles of the women and men that were researched in Ireland make it clear as day that prostitution = men sexually exploiting vulnerable women.

The evidence is clear: if we want to protect victims of exploitation and to disrupt sex trafficking networks, Scotland must strengthen our laws to tackle the root cause - male demand to buy sex. My Unbuyable bill provides a necessary first step in combating the scourge of male violence against women, by criminalising those who treat women and children as sexual products for sale and review.

We asked our service users and staff what they’d really like to say to Sex Buyers.
Over the 16 days of Activism to end Gender-Based violence we’ll be passing on some of their messages.
Real women (not chatbots) are saying what they really feel about selling sex and they are addressing their ‘dear sex-buyers' directly.
The Rules of Consent apply to Every. Single. Sexual. Interaction. And if you have to pay for it, it’s not consent.
During the 16 days campaign we’ll be posting a series of messages highlighting the realities of the sex trade and the inhumanity experienced by those impacted by commercial sexual exploitation and human trafficking in Ireland.
Please like and share and join us in raising awareness of the system of prostitution as a form of violence against women, and driver of human trafficking for sexual exploitation.

Powerful, as ever, from @miadefaoite
"Because the truth is they buy us when we're sick, they buy us when we're weeping, they buy us when we're disconnected, stoned, intoxicated, they buy us when we can't even understand the language they're speaking or have no sense of where we are, they buy us when we have visible bruises, cuts, marks, scars, infections, even when we bleed they will continue. They buy us when we are pregnant, they impregnate us without a second thought of the consequences for us or our bodies nor the children that are born because of their illegal purchase. The consequences of their actions are profound and long-lasting."
