Loneliness is a standard prerequisite for an exceptional outcome. You must have the ability to discern and that is done alone

Azure monitoring becomes much more useful when you know what you're looking at.
For example, CPU usage tells you how busy a VM is, but IOPS tells you how many read and write operations its storage is handling.
If an application is slow while CPU usage looks normal, storage performance could be worth investigating.
Don't rely on one metric to explain an incident.
Understand what each metric actually measures.
This is a Good Step in the right Direction Regulatory wise.
Given I’ve built the Fraud Case Management System of an entire Bank by myself in the UK 🇬🇧, I can understand the rationale behind this .
The CBN just dropped a bombshell mandate: Nigerian banks and fintechs must now cut their fraud response times to under 30 minutes.
If you think this is just a compliance headache for the legal team, you’re wrong. This is a massive backend engineering crisis.
Here is why your legacy ledger architecture will choke on this rule: 🧵

Highly ambitious men need women who can love them through the times when they must disappear into themselves to unlock the next threshold of their becoming.
Such men are rarely chasing success alone. they want psychic expansion, spiritual transformation, mastery, financial sovereignty, emotional command, and the transcendence through levels he was born in.
Being with such a man requires transformation. You will be left alone for long stretches, because both of you are being summoned into higher versions of yourselves. His solitude becomes the furnace of his becoming, and your solitude becomes the chamber in which your own interior life is forced to mature.
Ordinary people will look at this and call it neglect, or emotional starvation, because they understand love only through constant access. But in relationships like this, love is measured by growth, support and the mutual refusal to let each other remain small.
There is tenderness here, but there is also pressure. Both people are building themselves, building each other, and building the life that will one day exceed them both.

May be anecdotal but I think the UK still works if you're coming on a student visa and certain conditions apply.
You're young - ideally < 25 year old
Well-financed or on a scholarship
Very talented - in the top 5% of your field

27 to 33 is what makes or breaks your life
If you do it right, you enter the portal to the most beautiful version of your life
27 is when you take the leap
28 shows you who you are. Forced to sink or swim, you realize what you’re truly capable of
29 the vision becomes clear. You double down on yourself
30 you begin doing the best work of your life
31 is your meteoric rise
32 is when your partner comes into your life and you begin build the next foundation to the rest of your life
33 you wake up one day, having coffee in your house overlooking the ocean next to your soulmate. Your dog runs by. You realize it all happened. It all turned out better than you ever thought it would. You made it. You are so happy.

There was a time in my life when each work crisis was a challenge that spurred me into action rather than causing me stress. I was very fit then. I played tennis 3 times a week, swam, and lifted weights. My brain was wired differently as a result.
5 years later, I almost died from the stress that accumulated because I was no longer as fit as I used to be. It all started after I moved to Ghana, where we had no tennis court in my estate, unlike in Nigeria. It was no longer an easy part of my routine.
Fitness routines are crucial, and founders should take fitness seriously if they want to succeed. It is not a nice-to-have; it is a requirement for success.
I once supported the removal of a founder who had major health issues, as they started affecting his judgment. I removed myself as CEO after a major health scare. I wasn't as effective as I used to be because I was juggling a lot at once. We started a fund that year, and it almost killed me.
It is a funny heuristic, but fit founders typically do better as they are more disciplined in their personal lives. They are machines. A fit founder over 40 is a potential billionaire.

My thoughts:
The biggest mistake that both OpenAI & Anthropic have made was leading with what AI could do for companies instead of what AI could do to improve the lives of average people. The focus on that narrative overlooks what I believe would've been the easiest way to get buy in from the general public which is healthcare.
If either of these CEOs actually spent more time listening to average people, they would've understood that healthcare is a very big concern for many and had they shown how AI can be used to improve health outcomes, they would've had a larger backing from everyday people to use it for other things.
Second mistake was pushing an AI efficiency narrative that influenced executive leaders in the American job market to believe that mass layoffs were necessary to remain competitive in the AI race because of the promised cost savings and efficiency of AI. The problem is that true AI transformation requires much more than throwing an LLM at existing processes, and in many cases, we are still years away from realizing the level of efficiency being promised. Most companies at this moment in time do not have enough AI expertise internally to properly quantify the productivity gains, limitations, or quality of the outputs they're receiving. Yet somehow, at the same time, we're constantly being told that we're on the verge of AGI.
Third mistake was pushing all of these AI doomsday scenarios while continuing to present moving forward as the only real option. I understand why it seemed necessary to continue from a geopolitical standpoint, and even ego, but this was the narrative for years even while the public was being told how badly this could potentially go. Then you had whistleblowers and former employees coming forward raising concerns about what they were seeing internally. Some of those concerns, particularly at OpenAI, were publicly disputed or dismissed as inaccurate. Now we're being told by the leaders of both companies that we need to slow down. If AI technology has crossed a significant threshold where the leaders believe slowing down is necessary, the public deserves to know what changed, when it changed, and what they're seeing now that makes slowing down necessary.
I think everyone understands that we do not want to lose the race to China, but it has been unclear to the average person what exactly losing means because right now, in this moment, American people already feel they are losing everything. It has also never been made clear what winning this race actually looks like for the average American. Our industry has created conditions that now make slowing down politically, globally, locally, and economically difficult. A few tweets and paragraphs saying additional safety personnel are going to be introduced cannot seriously be presented as the fix, and there should be a push for more, especially if the risks are as serious as they're now saying they are.

Men in their 30s without kids are often the ambitious ones who put in the years to get established first. That extra time lets them plan a much stronger future for their children instead of scrambling later.

One thing I observe of recent is that, most people that have this captivating aura of presence are frequently alone, minding their business and simply engaging in things that helps them to elevate. Someway, somehow, that mindset and model of behavior reflects in their movements, speech and body posture. In other words, locked-in people are catchy.
