We’re happy to celebrate Ervin Nesbitt’s 40 years of getting things done at our warehouse in Winston-Salem. Ervin joined the company in 1986, just four years after it was founded by Mr. Harris. (That’s the two of them in the photo.) Happy anniversary, Ervin!

On National Submarine Day, we honor the men and women of the U.S. Navy Submarine Force, who serve aboard the most advanced submarines in the world. We’re proud of our over 30 years serving the military and its shipbuilders.

Thomas Anderson has joined the SFS team as Corporate Quality Manager, responsible for ensuring our standards continue to lead the industry. Outside work, Thomas and his wife run an animal rescue program. If there’s time left over, he practices Ju Jitsu and Muay Thai.

We couldn’t be happier to welcome Scott Johnson to the team in Florida. Scott brings 35 years of experience to support our customers in the theme park industry. Outside of work, Scott enjoys, “anything outdoors and around water,” which they have a lot of in Florida.

World Quality Week is a good time to tip our hat to our Quality Assurance team. Their obsession with quality has gotten us to fewer than 10 rejected parts per million, a standout stat in our industry.

The team at our headquarters in Winston-Salem, NC, held a Halloween costume contest. Everybody did great, but we gave first prize to killer clown Brent Walker—because it was the best costume, not because he was holding a chainsaw. That had nothing to do with it.

We’re glad to welcome Joseph Panzer back to the Southern Fasteners team. His relentless attention to detail will serve him well in his new role as a purchasing analyst for our defense and military customers. Joe lives in Arizona, where he has logged over 11,000 miles on his eBike
