🚧Update on burst main on Nightingale Road, Sutton affecting customers in Carshalton.🚧
We're pleased to confirm the burst water main in Nightingale Road has now been repaired and water is now restored to customers. Thank you for your patience while our team worked on the repair. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.
It’s common for tiny air bubbles to be present, making the water look milky or cloudy. In most cases the water will return to normal within a few hours. If you do experience cloudy water at any time, we recommend that you don’t leave your taps running but check the water at regular intervals. Update as at: 10:22 20/12/24
We are pleased to confirm that all supplies have been restored. We would like to take this opportunity to apologise again for the impact this has had on our customers.
We will therefore be closing the bottled water stations later today. Please be reassured that in the unlikely event of an emergency we would be able to reinstate the following bottled water stations immediately:
👉Cheam Library, Church Rd, Sutton SM3 8QH.
👉Upper High Street Car Park KT17 4DU.
Due to the nature of this incident, some customers may notice a change in the hardness of the water they are receiving, for example increased limescale or a film on hot drinks such as cups of tea.
These areas are: Sutton, Cheam, Worcester Park, Ewell, Morden, Carshalton, Carshalton Beeches, Wallington, Chipstead, Banstead, Burgh Heath, Kingswood, Tadworth.
The increased water hardness is of no concern and the water can be consumed and used as normal.
A reminder that when your water returns it may be cloudy, white, or discoloured and you may notice a change in smell. Please be assured that in most cases, this can be cleared by running the cold kitchen tap. You can find more information here: seswater.co.uk/your-water/wa…
As always, our teams will continue to monitor our network closely. Over the Christmas period we have taken additional steps to have extra measures and teams on standby throughout.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
