This answers the cry of several Ugandans who have their loved ones who move abroad without telling their families their whereabouts and they die from there. The latest example is the people who are said to have died from Russia in the Ukraine war if thats true.

One other very important one is the INTERPOL BLACK NOTICE: It is used to seek information on unidentified dead bodies. If you have a loved one that you suspect to have died abroad and might perhaps have been unidentified, come to us and let us check the database. The country could have published a notice about them.

Perhaps to be clear, we don’t go to other countries to effect arrests. We notify them and they comply by locating and arresting the wanted persons. That’s why you might think we are just sitting with warrants on our desks. No, we aren’t.

Do not despair. If you have good reason to believe that a suspect in your case has run out of the country, insist on the Investigating officer having them put on the Interpol Red Notice to be located and apprehended. We will guide on the procedure.
