1,404 $QUBIC wallets got drained this month.
The attacker cashed out exactly zero.
Not because they got caught later. Because the coins were frozen before they could go anywhere.
Most exploits end with a "we are investigating" post and a dead wallet. This one ended with frozen funds and a refund queue.
The protocol never broke. The hole was weak seed generation in the wallet on certain devices and browsers.
No transaction was forged, and consensus never failed.
Within hours, the Computors coordinated a halt of the entire network.
87.1% of the stolen funds froze on chain, untouched.
The other 12.9% reached an exchange, and that account was frozen within about an hour.
The patch shipped the next day in wallet version 4.26.4, so weak seeds can no longer be created.
The Computor quorum voted recovery through, and the chain was live again two days after the halt.
Refunds are already moving:
230+ claims filed
First funds back with verified owners
Every approved claim public for 7 days of disputes before payout
Now the part nobody wants to say out loud.
A chain that can stop itself to save you can stop itself for worse reasons.
That power is the price of this rescue, and every holder should know they are paying it.
Four questions to ask after any exploit, on any chain:
1. Was the failure in the protocol or the client?
2. How fast did containment actually land?
3. Who voted on recovery, and is that vote public?
4. Are claims published before anyone gets paid?
Qubic answered all four in public. The last claim has not cleared yet, so the final grade is still pending.
Every chain eventually meets its exploit. Very few make the attacker leave empty handed.
Some people deserve to be suffering and poor. Leave the guy alone to come back to Kampala......time wil judge him.
I have a friend called Alex, his native home district is Sheema, but he was born and raised in Entebbe. All his education has been within the Central region. He is about three years older than me and is well educated. He holds a diploma in Business Administration, a bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and a master’s degree in the same field.
Even though I have been in the working field far longer than him, the truth is that since he completed high school, Alex has never been employed, not even a part-time job in a company or as a helper on a construction site. He has applied to over thirty different job opportunities and attended about ten interviews, but he never managed to secure any of them.
He would often tell me, “Boni, pray for me. I think there is some sort of curse or barrier that is stopping me from getting a job.” We prayed multiple times. We recited the Rosary, prayed Novenas, and offered many other prayers for him.
Last month, he finally got called for an interview in Nwoya District. He went, passed the interview, and was offered the job on a one month probation, with a gross salary of 1,000,000 Ugandan shillings, plus accommodation and transport. After NSSF and PAYE, he remains with roughly 800,000 shillings per month.
Last week he called me and said he felt sick, that his soul was out of his body. He said he was not comfortable at his workplace and that he felt like he had been dumped or cut off from the world because the place is far from urban Kampala. He also told me that people with lesser qualifications than him were being paid 1,500,000 shillings a month, so he was not contented.
Imagine someone who has never been employed before, already complaining barely a month into his first job. He told me he wanted to quit. Honestly, I felt like crying on the phone, it felt so ungrateful. There are people desperately looking for any job that can give them 200,000 shillings or even less, yet here he was already complaining.
He asked me to pray so that God would give him a better job within Kampala. My reply was short and direct:
“You prayed for a job. God gave you one, it does not matter where He takes you, He knows what is best for you. You cannot decide or manipulate Him. It is high time you became grateful even as you pray for a better opportunity. The more you complain, the more you frustrate Him. He may come to see you as unappreciative and leave you unemployed again because you refuse to recognise what is good for you.”
I honestly wonder what some people desire in life. You pray for a job, you receive one, and within less than a month you already want to quit. Is that even right?

There will be a time when they realize $Qubic was never just another blockchain.
There will be a time when the things they called impossible become ordinary.
There will be a time when the world finally understands what was being built in the dark.
And there will be a time when we look back and remember - We were already there.
