Newly released surveillance footage shows 35-year-old Jacob Pearson entering a Citibank campus in Hillsborough County, Florida, armed with a rifle before opening fire Wednesday.
Authorities said Pearson was angry over a $2,500 credit card debt and had threatened to bring an AR-15 and a bulletproof vest to the building unless Citibank canceled a debt collection hearing. He later opened fire, killing a 41-year-old woman before being confronted and shot by Citibank employee John Fraley. Pearson died at a hospital.
The Hillsborough County sheriff praised Fraley's actions, calling him a hero and crediting him with potentially saving lives on a campus with more than 3,200 people.

The rate at which individuals with IQs below 90 (the US average is around 98) completed college has increased approximately 6-fold in men and 10-fold in women relative to rates in the previous generation.
Today, the average college student isn't all that much smarter than the average American. A degree from most colleges signals little more than what a high school diploma signaled 100 years ago.
It's worth noting that the position of the Democratic Party has been that college enrollment should be expanded, and most of the progressive wing of the party believes that college education ought to be subsidized by the taxpayer. In fact, college enrollment should be reduced and hundreds of non-selective colleges should be shuttered.

Tonight’s outcome isn’t about placing faith in Democrats or socialist principles; it’s about holding Republicans accountable for betraying their promises.
All Republicans had to do was:
1. put Americans First
2. not start another war
3. prosecute sex traffickers
Unironically, this is the ideal state.
The best federal government is one that does almost nothing new.
My only "problem" with the Republicans losing power is that we'll lose the focus on all the medicare/caid/welfare program rot.

Authorities on Tuesday released the 911 call made by Kaylub Giamanco as he rushed to help during the October 15 shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon.
The 16-year-old gunman killed a teacher and three students before Giamanco, whose two daughters were inside the school, confronted and fatally shot him.

10 years ago today, Hillary Clinton tweeted the Alfa Bank hoax.
Her campaign planted the story, shopped it to media, then used Slate's "reporting" to amplify the hoax.
Democrat-aligned media did their job and provided Hillary with her fake October surprise.
The enhanced TEMPORARY subsidies were designed by Democrats to expire at the end of '25.
But that's the Republicans fault.
Dems: millions of illegals aren't driving up healthcare costs, but now suddenly everyone else is.
Funny how that works
Premiums aren’t just going up on their own, costs are rising because of decisions Republicans in Congress made:
The GOP gutted Medicaid and then allowed ACA enhanced tax credits to expire. Over 5 million Americans had to drop their coverage as a result.
But uninsured people still get sick. And when they end up in emergency rooms because they couldn’t afford to get preventive care, that cost gets absorbed by everyone.
That means hospitals have to pay more to provide care, and working families then pay more for their health care coverage to make up the difference.
If Congressional Republicans had been willing to work with Democrats to keep Americans insured, we could have avoided this. But the GOP’s number one priority was tax cuts for the rich, no matter what that meant for the rest of us.
