Recently, SPGA CEO, Mr. Rodney Bonne & Research Scientist, Ms. Dominic Jean, joined project partners for the kick-off meeting of SEASTRONG: The Role of Connectivity in Safeguarding Functioning Coastal Ecosystems under Global Change.

On 21–22 September, SPGA staff based on Mahé, Curieuse, Ile Coco and the Veuve Reserve came together on Curieuse Island for an internal monitoring workshop and training.

Together with Allamanda DoubleTree by Hilton, our team undertook a meaningful tree‑planting activity along the Salazie Trail in the Morne Seychellois National Park. 16 Bois de Natte and 24 Bois de Tab were planted, adding to the trees nurtured in previous years.
Rangers, conservation officers and customer‑facing staff from SPGA and ICS Seychelles joined a Visitor Interaction & Compliance course, supported by the GOS‑GEF‑UNDP Blue Economy Project via the Programme Development & Coordination Section.

On July 31st, the world united to pay tribute to rangers. Though World Rangers Day has passed, it is never too late to celebrate our incredible team. Everyday is an opportunity to recognize their importance & express gratitude for their in preserving our protected areas.
Last week, our team based in the Veuve Special Reserve on La Digue, warmly received a battery‑powered bicycle - a generous donation from the Chinese Embassy in Seychelles through our parent ministry.

The Inner Islands team recently joined our valued partners at Seychelles Islands Foundation and other stakeholders on Praslin, for an invasive plant removal exercise in the vicinity of the Vallée de Mai, within Praslin National Park, on the occasion of Nature Conservation Day.
SPGA is delighted to have received the recent donation of 8 benches, generously offered by Mrs. Gersende Eichler to the Botanical Garden.
Thoughtfully placed in shady corners, these benches provide peaceful resting spots where visitors can pause and enjoy the Garden.
Our team proudly participated in the Careers Fair at Ile Perseverance Secondary School!
Representatives showcased the wide range of careers possible within the organisation while also giving students a glimpse into the diverse aspects of their daily conservation activities.
SPGA has once again partnered with 51 Degrees Limited to deliver an intensive EarthRanger Administrator Training focused on building long-term in-house capacity.

SPGA & Absa Bank Seychelles recently united in the Ste. Anne Marine Park for our third coral reef restoration event, with 1,207 coral fragments carefully outplanted onto recycled fish trap structures.

The Office of the President has today announced the appointment of Mr. Rodney Bonne as the CEO of SPGA, alongside the re‑appointment of Ms. Lya Docteur as Deputy CEO.
This morning, we have officially kick-started the Marine Ecosystems Monitoring Exchange Workshop, a four‑day programme designed to strengthen scientific collaboration and conservation capacity.
