The biggest unreported story from yesterday: Carney snuck into the budget a massive immigration increase with the LARGEST NUMBER OF NEW PERMANENT RESIDENTS EVER next year.
Nearly 200,000 more than Trudeau’s highest-ever number year. When we have a shortage of jobs, homes, and health care.
Now we know why Carney snuck his immigration plan into a budget when everyone was distracted by the midterms and right before Parliament shuts for 10 days.
Unacceptable. This needs a real debate.

We are in serious trouble and no amount of gleeful turdpolishing can paper over the damage that’s evident EVERYWHERE
CBC quietly noted on Oct 20 that the PBO projects the debt-to-GDP ratio “will rise steadily over the five-year horizon” — undercutting one of Carney’s fiscal anchors — but buried it in a short tariffs story
This week the same finding only gets real attention once Pierre Poilievre stands by the debt clock and says: “Outside of COVID, Carney’s deficit is the biggest in Canadian history.”
The independent watchdog’s numbers on rising debt ratios and large deficits were available days earlier. They just weren’t framed as a problem until the Opposition leader made them one

‼️ MAJOR BREAKING: 3 masked suspects with handguns & hammer broke into a home in Toronto's Bridle Path, Drake's neighbourhood, at 3:45 this morning.
A father and his 2 daughters were SHOT. Another family member was hit with a hammer.
No arrests.
No suspects identified.
No change to the law in sight.
In March, Conservatives tabled the Stand on Guard Act to protect Canadians who defend their families inside their own homes.
The Liberal response: Canadians already have the right to self-defence.
The bill has sat at second reading for 7 months.

Since we are on the subject of 'affordability' allow me to repeat what I said when Trudeau was prime minister.
We live in a time when a Canadian family stops at a gas station and a grocery store on the same day and can't afford to fill up at either.
