The armed men stormed his home following a confrontation with Al-Rajhi, then opened fire on him, killing him.
This crime comes amid ongoing Houthi violations against civilians in Taiz, including the use of positions within residential areas to carry out sniper attacks against residents and the conversion of civilian homes into military positions.

I keep getting asked why Yemen’s military has not activated the other fronts against the Houthis.
I spoke to @timourazhari from @Reuters about this yesterday. The problem is not simply opening another front. Anti-Houthi forces remain deeply fractured, with different chains of command, political loyalties and outside backers.
As I told Reuters, “Many anti-Houthi forces are still not organised or prepared for the kind of sustained offensive required to push back a disciplined Houthi military force. And they are being tested right now, as the Houthis apply pressure across several fronts at once.”
That helps explain why, even as the battle for Taiz intensifies, several other fronts remain largely quiet.
