This #CyberSecurityAwarenessMonth remember that cyber security isn’t only for people who work in IT or are good with computers. It’s everyone’s responsibility – including yours.
We have created a quick self-assessment tool to help you stay safe online by understanding your risk, the risk to people you care for and to recommend the learning materials to help you.

Our UNCRC Children's Rights Report 2026–2029, sets out the actions we've taken over the last three years and our plans to further respect, protect and promote children's rights in our work.
The report highlights achievements including trauma informed practice, updated Codes of Practice and work to support children and young people across social services in Scotland.
Welcoming the report, SSSC Chief Executive, Maree Allison said:
‘Children’s rights are central to our work as a national regulator of social work, social care and children and young people services. As a public body, we have a responsibility not only to comply with our statutory duties but to provide leadership and assurance that children’s rights are respected, protected and promoted through the decisions we make and the standards we set.’

More than 8,500 learners have used the National Induction Framework for Social Care since its launch in May 2025.
The free online learning programme gives workers access to key learning and allows completed induction learning to transfer between employers, helping to reduce duplication.
Diane McLean, Training Officer at @falkirkcouncil said,
‘We’re keen to encourage even more independent social care providers to adopt the National Induction Framework. Discussions are already underway to explore how learning achievements gained through the framework can be recorded within local learning management systems. Consideration is also being given to incorporating NIF certificates and evidence into onboarding processes.
Successfully integrating the framework in this way could significantly reduce duplication in induction training, enabling employers to recognise learning that staff have already completed while maintaining high standards of practice.’

We know that being involved in a fitness to practise investigation or hearing can be stressful.
That's why we've continued to improve the support available to workers and witnesses, making hearings clearer, more supportive and trauma informed. We also offer a dedicated wellbeing support line that provides free, independent and confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for people involved in the fitness to practise process.

The first of our #SSSC25years stories is from Liz, nursery manager at Ivy in the Park nursery in Glasgow.
Liz has worked in early years for over 35 years, starting her career in South Africa before moving to Scotland seven years ago.
Working in both countries has shown her that child development is universal, but Scotland's legislation, regulation and professional standards ensure children receive safe, high quality care.
Hear more from Liz about what it means to be #SSSCregistered
It’s 25 years since we were established to regulate the social work, social care and children and young people workforce across Scotland.
To mark the occasion, we’re running a new campaign 25 years of making a difference, as we celebrate some of the key milestones that have shaped the sector over the past quarter of a century.
We'll share stories, achievements and reflections from across the years, highlighting the impact social service workers make every day in the lives of people who use services.
You can get involved by sharing what registration means to you and how it helps make a positive difference for the people and communities you support.
