My first article is out!! It explores the development of the photobook in turn-of-the-century Vienna as medium of difference: the product of Jewish textual and visual cultures. 🍾 Thanks @lbi_london & @BotstiberBIAAS for funding, @PFLerner for support!

Excited to share that my article “Nazi Germany in the Viewfinder: On Space and Movement in German-Jewish Youth Culture” has just appeared in Naharaim 16, 2!
It features my favorite find: a photo of the young Abraham Sieff hitchhiking around Bonn and Cologne in 1937.

freud’s jokes and their relation to the unconscious is a great book because it’s mostly just him telling his favorite jokes, interspersed with commentary like “this is an excellent joke” or “unfortunately this next one is yet another jewish joke”
