I remember this “human powered search 😂” from TWiT podcasts on my way to work in my first job in 2007! Considering to just buy this for no reason at all other than the nostalgia of that time @Jason

Stop being sentimental. FIFA can do this
No. Legally, FIFA (a Swiss association) owns the World Cup's commercial rights, trademarks and IP, and can create a subsidiary to sell minority stakes in those rights while retaining full sporting control. Fans have no ownership interest. The tournament has long been commercialized through broadcast and sponsorship deals.

The sooner you accept you won’t beat the S&P 500 the sooner you’ll actually reach financial freedom.

I have a secret to share After your first $2–$3 million, a paid off home and a good car, there is no difference in quality of life between you and Jeff Bezos. Both of you have limited amount of time on earth; you have twice if not more than Jeff, so you are richer than him. A cheeseburger is a cheeseburger whether a billionaire eats or you do. Money is nothing but a piece of paper or a number in your app. Real life is outdoors. Become financially independent; that’s usually 2–3mil. Have good food. Enjoy the relations. Workout. Sleep well. Call your parents. That’s all there is to life. Greed has no end. Repeat after me: Time is the currency of life. Money is not. Sooner you figure this out, happier you will be.

The problem with this “rebellion” is that it’s all Boomer coded and mainstream. Trying to dress down a suit by throwing on some sneakers with it reads more like pouting about the dress code than any true individuality. The only way to do a suit with sneakers well is if you’re wearing the suit casually - if it’s a way to elevate the sneakers - rather than using the shoes to try to bring the formality of the suit down. Which means the suit has to be casual - seasonal, textured, deconstructed, all of that and the sneakers need to be elevated. Your typical business suit with Cole Haan hybrids isn’t going to do anything. And even then, the suit with sneakers is more 2010 #menswear than anything else. Embrace the loafers.

Tanner, what’s your take in many people wearing dark sneakers with business suits these days? Personally, I might do it if I had a finance job but I think it’s a bit weird that this has become so normalized. Like, why not just ditch the suit entirely if you don’t want to wear dress shoes? It feels like a slight act of rebellion maybe 👟
