Captain Ken Kunkel, pictured on the left, has been identified as the cadet supervisor who was the victim of an aggravated assault on November 1st. Kunkel is currently in the hospital with a spinal injury. Capt. Ken Kunkle is the Commanding Officer of the 826 Gryphon Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron, based in Binbrook, Ontario. Estela Quintanilla, pictured on the right, as well as two unidentified male minors, were the alleged perpetrators of the violent attack. Quintanilla did not know any of the other parties in the altercation. Quintanilla and a 12-year-old male are facing charges of aggravated assault. The 11-year-old male cannot be charged because under Section 13 of the Criminal Code of Canada, the minimum age of criminal responsibility is 12 years old. Leading up to the assault, two cadets were doing a poppy drive on Sunday at a mall when the two unidentified males assaulted them by honking a compressed air horn in their ears and faces. Air horns can easily produce sounds exceeding 120 decibels. Close-proximity exposure can cause immediate and permanent hearing loss or eardrum trauma. A compressed air horn can be legally classified as a weapon if it is used to intimidate or assault someone. The cadets reported what had happened to their supervisor, Capt. Kunkel. Hearing what happened, Capt. Kunkel responded and followed the males into a nearby Mandarin restaurant to prevent the alleged male aggressors from fleeing before police could arrive. According to the Hamilton Spectator, "A struggle then ensued over one of the youths' backpacks as the commander tried to keep them from fleeing until officers arrived, according to Const. Trevor McKenna. The boys, in turn, 'snatched' his keys and lanyard." At this point, Quintanilla is alleged to have tripped Capt. Kunkel. As he lay defenseless on the ground, the male aggressors reportedly began to punch Capt. Kunkel and stomp on his head. All parties involved in the aggravated assault then fled the scene of their crime. The alleged male aggressors were found nearby at another establishment, where they were causing a disruption. They were throwing around objects inside a retail store. The police found them when they responded to a call about their criminal conduct in the store. It is unknown whether or not the cadets sustained injuries in the initial alleged compressed air horn assault. Quintanilla could not be reached for comment. Further reporting will be done about this story this evening, streaming live tonight at 7 PM EST. A Gates Foundation-funded research team released about 16,000 genetically modified male mosquitoes in Bana village, near Souroukoudinga in western Burkina Faso On August 11, 2025. It was the first release of its kind in West Africa. Eleven days later, the project was dead. On August 18, judicial police raided the IRSS research institute in Bobo-Dioulasso. They sealed offices and laboratories, marked them as crime scenes, and searched scientists—including their vehicles—on the suspicion they might be carrying mosquitoes in their pockets. On August 22, the Ministry of Higher Education terminated all Target Malaria activities across the entire national territory. The communiqué cited "national interests." The remaining mosquito samples were ordered destroyed. The government did not accuse the researchers of a biosafety failure. It did not cite a regulatory breach. It said the project was over. Target Malaria had operated in Burkina Faso for over a decade. It had approvals from the national biosafety agency. It had community consent from the villages where releases took place. None of that mattered in the end. A foreign-funded project had been conducting an experiment on Burkinabè soil, and the Burkinabè state decided it would no longer do so on terms set elsewhere. This is what sovereignty looks like in a laboratory. Not a slogan about independence. A sealed door, a destroyed sample, and a ministry communiqué that says: not here, not on these terms. The Gates Foundation has poured billions into African health research. Some of it has saved lives. But funding is not authority. A cheque does not buy the right to decide what happens inside a country's borders. Burkina Faso made that clear in eleven days. Africa is not a play ground !

🚨BREAKING: A Canadian lawmaker just told residents facing home invasions that if criminals want to steal from them, they should simply let it happen. Manitoba NDP MLA Billie Cross said during a debate that “if they want to steal, let them steal” because “that’s why we have insurance.” She argued that property is not worth risking a life over and that people should not put themselves in danger to stop a thief. The advice is absurd on its face. Once someone has already broken into your home, you have no way of knowing whether they only want your TV or whether they plan to harm your family. Insurance can replace a stolen item. It cannot replace a human life or undo the trauma of an invasion. Telling citizens to stand down and hope for the best while criminals walk through their doors is not leadership. It is surrender.
