Canada logs late-term ab*rtions as stillbirths, and Democrats fight to keep that same moral fog over American law. ⠀ Canadian provinces treat a fetus delivered at 20 weeks or later with no signs of life as a stillbirth. The paperwork does not ask whether the baby d*ed on its own or was k*lled on purpose. ⠀ That is not a rumor from a pamphlet. It is in the Canadian Journal of Public Health and the Canadian Medical Association Journal. ⠀ Researchers looking at British Columbia from 2000 to 2017 found natural stillbirths edged down from 5.2 to 4.5 per 1,000 births. Ab*rtion-induced stillbirths jumped from 7.6 to 12.1. ⠀ Canada then looks like it has a stillbirth crisis next to the United States and Sweden, which do not dump induced ab*rtions into the stillbirth column. The authors worried the ranking looked bad. They did not worry that the babies were de*d. ⠀ We Need a Law used that British Columbia rate and estimated about 350 late-term abortions in the province in 2017, and roughly 2,635 nationwide if the rest of the country matched. ⠀ CIHI hospital data for 2023-2024, excluding Quebec, listed 1,192 stillbirths from termination of pregnancy. It also listed 123 live births at 20 weeks or later after an attempted ab*rtion. ⠀ Most of those live births were at 21 to 24 weeks. The same table shows cases at 25 to 28 weeks and even after 28 weeks, when survival outside the womb is already high. ⠀ Canada has no federal gestational limit. A healthy twin can be "reduced" in the womb and then written up as stillborn when the sibling is delivered. ⠀ Democrats in the United States sell the same lie in different stationery. They vote as a bloc against born-alive protections. They sponsor bills that wipe out state limits after viability if a provider utters the word "health." ⠀ They call late-term cases rare, then scream when anyone tries to count them honestly.
