The Scottish IPC team listened… they responded… but will they actually act?
Only time will tell ⏰
The depressing thing is that this is only the very tip of the iceberg in terms of the issues with their new IPC guidance…

It's worth getting hold of a HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filtration unit or two if affected by smoke indoors. They filter out harmful smoke particles & as a bonus also other harmful particles, airborne allergens & infections. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cr59…

One of the grimmest political tricks of the last 15 years has been convincing the public that disabled people are a bigger economic threat than tax avoidance, private outsourcing failures, or housing costs.

😡How utterly sickening and unforgivable: we sacrificed our own children’s hearts to lasting damage and Long-COVID, all in service of pathetic zero-risk SarsCoV2 theatre!💔
"Even in the absence of overt cardiovascular disease, children with prior SARS-CoV-2 infection experience persistent subclinical cardiac changes and symptoms consistent with Long-COVID."

Tonight the Scottish Parliament voted NO to legalising assisted suicide in Scotland by 69 votes to 57
Thank you to the MSP's who listened to the evidence & experiences of all those with concerns about this Bill
Hopefully Westminster will follow the Scottish Parliament's example
In the end more MSPs understood that the risks were too great. For now. As this BBC headline makes clear, the battle is far from over. We must continue to make the case that disabled people's voices and concerns must be central to this debate. bbc.co.uk/news/live/cx2grl77…

GDA recognises that many people hold differing views on the principle of #AssistedDying. Regardless of people’s views on the principle of Assisted Dying, it is widely accepted by multiple professional bodies that this Bill is unsafe. This is why we’re urging MSP’s to VOTE NO

ALT GDA members are gathered at the Scottish Parliament to protest the Assisted Dying Bill in May 2025. It's a bright and sunny picture, and members hold placards that read: "Dignity in Dying? We don't all have dignity in Living! Vote No", "If you don't know vote no! "Dignity in Living" and "Assisted suicide is not the solution"

The PCR positivity map is out, and there's been a slight decrease in national levels, though the clusters remain in the same places as last week.
England is on 3.92%, adjusted for non-reporting; Scotland is on 3.82%.

Palantir has secured 24 distinct contracts with UK public institutions. However, when including contract extensions, amendments, and follow-on agreements, the total rises to over 34 across sectors like defense, healthcare, and local government. The overall value of these deals is estimated at £910 million (and full £1.5B partnership potential).
Palantir’s 24th contract with UK public institutions was procured with Kier Starmer’s backing, this is the most recent contract, and it is with Coventry City Council.
Palantir are embedding its spytech from the top down to local governance levels.
This is how you build a panopticon of constant 24/7 surveillance as per Shabana Mahmood’s plans.

Great article.
"What will it take for those responsible for infection prevention and control to understand that the way to prevent infection that spreads through the air like smoke is to clean the air and wear respiratory masks?"
Thanks @hacscot for this article, in advance of my petition calling for protection from airborne infections in health and social care settings returning to Committee on Wednesday. Anyone anywhere can sign -still time: petitions.parliament.scot/pe…...) 🙏

At last!! It's only taken nearly 6 years. @scotgovhealth @neilcgray @P_H_S_Official @NHSNSS ARHAI please please listen and act accordingly. And everyone please note there are now many respiratory FFP2/ FPP3 masks on the market & it's possible to achieve a very good fit. 🙏
This feels like an important breakthrough moment…
On the BBC News this evening, Medical Editor @BBCFergusWalsh clearly stated:
“As for facemasks, simple surgical masks are *not* good at stopping viruses. You really need a properly fitted tight respirator mask for that”…

My aunty is raising money for breast cancer. She has stage 4 breast cancer that spread to her brain. Last year part of her skull had to be removed so she has to wear a helmet. This year she's crocheted a helmet hat 🥰

I hope politicians from all parties come together to condemn his deeply dangerous and irresponsible rhetoric.
