Most sales candidates lose the role before the interview. Today I onboarded a client. Day 1: > Resume rebuilt around outbound metrics, not responsibilities > Job portal profile rewritten to pass the 6-second skim > Applications running Documenting the full hunt, Following along is free🏹

I think the biggest regret most men carry is not starting sooner Whether it’s a hobby, talking to a girl, a trip, a goal or a job, the second they finally go for it the first thing they think is damn, I should’ve done this sooner Sure, if you never try anything you never have to feel that. But is that really a life you want to live? I don’t🏹

427 new sales jobs went up on company career pages in the last 7 days If you’re in customer success or account management, 82 of them are yours And your slice is growing. On the boards I tracked last week too, CS went from 12% of new roles to 18%. Braze posted 8 by itself 🏹

Interview question to expect (SDR, first round): "You have 300 accounts in your territory. How do you pick the top 20 or 50 to work first? Walk me through your thinking." What they're testing: Can you prioritize with a reason? How to answer it, in 3 steps:

You’d never end a discovery call without locking in the next step Then people get to the end of an interview, say thanks for your time and hang up Ask what the next step is and when you’ll hear back. Same as any deal 🏹

Before you take a sales job ask what the top rep made last year If the best person on the team isn’t clearing their OTE by a lot, the number in your offer letter is a guess 🏹

Sales is the only job I know where you get told no fifty times before lunch and that counts as a normal day It does something to you. After a while a rejection email from a job you applied to feels about as personal as a dial that didn’t connect That’s the part of sales worth having even if you never sell again 🏹

The best time to look for your next sales job is while you still have this one You get to negotiate like someone who can walk away, and hiring managers can feel that on the call Most people wait until they’re miserable or let go and then search from the worst position they’ll ever be in 🏹

I tell everyone who hops on a sales call with me the same thing: my goal is for you to get a job and leave me Seeing someone finally hit their goal and get the offer is the best part of this job, because I was in their shoes once. For October so far 🏹 An experienced AE: multiple offers An electrical engineer moving into sales: an offer A software engineer moving into sales: 2 offers, one signed A network engineer (UK) who’d never had a sales title: final interview stages and a contract

Andrew applied to over 600 jobs on his own last year. Maybe 5% turned into interviews This time he let us run the search. His words: "It's on me to be on the interviews. It's on him to get me in the door." 🏹

If anyone’s ever told you you’re too quiet for sales, go look at who’s actually hitting number The best reps I’ve worked with were honestly a little boring. They knew where every deal stood and they followed up exactly when they said they would The charming ones were great on the first call and then the deal just sat there Organized is something you can learn. Charm is a lot harder to teach 🏹

Most people finish a job search with one offer and the same network they started with When we run your search all the outreach goes out from your own LinkedIn. We fix up your profile first and then message the hiring managers and sales leaders at the companies we apply to, and a lot of them connect back Some of those turn into interviews. The rest are still in your network the next time you’re looking or need an intro 🏹

If you’re an AE, this was the best week for new jobs I’ve seen in a month 113 new sales jobs and 81 of them were AE Toast posted 33 on their own, so check the boards of the companies actually hiring before you go back to LinkedIn 🏹

Every SDR has a bad month and every hiring manager is going to ask about it "Tell me about your worst month. What was the target and how far off were you?" Dodging it is the worst thing you can do. Here's how to answer it 🏹
