Salt intake is very important especially during the summer. We can quickly become depleted in salt and water in the heat. The average salt loss in sweat/hr of exercise in the heat ranges from 1/2-1 tsp of salt but soccer players have been found to lose up to 2 1/2 tsp of salt/hr.

Your body drives you to eat several grams of salt per day because that is OPTIMAL.
You could live the rest of your life, and probably a much longer one, if you never ingested another gram of added sugar.
However, you wouldn’t live very long without salt.
STAY SALTY.
