In October 1942, during the height of the destruction of Polish Jewry, the Polish underground ordered Jan Karski to carry a report to the government-in-exile in London. Before he left, two Jewish leaders from the Warsaw ghetto met him. Their message was simple: “Our entire people will be destroyed.” Karski decided he needed to see it himself. At enormous personal risk, he was smuggled into the Warsaw ghetto and later into the Izbica transit camp near Lublin, disguised among the guards. He watched starving children, naked corpses left in the streets, and Jews packed into freight cars for the killing centers. The images never left him. He became not only the courier of the Polish underground but the witness who insisted the free world hear what was happening to the Jews. He reached London in November 1942 and briefed the Polish government-in-exile and British officials, including Foreign Secretary Anthony Eden. In July 1943, he met President Roosevelt in Washington and described what he had seen. Roosevelt listened, and then asked questions about other matters. Karski later wrote that he had failed in his wartime mission. In 1981, he told American officers who had liberated the camps: “And thus I myself became a Jew … so have all the Jews who were slaughtered become my family. But I am a Christian Jew … My faith tells me the second original sin has been committed by humanity. This sin will haunt humanity to the end of time. And I want it to be so.” Yad Vashem recognized him as Righteous Among the Nations in 1982, not because he saved individual Jews, but because he risked his life to enter the ghetto and a transit camp and carried their message to leaders of the free world. In 1994, Israel granted him honorary citizenship. He called it the proudest day of his life. Karski had been a Polish diplomat and underground courier. After the war, he became a Georgetown professor. The silence that greeted his reports never stopped troubling him. He spent the rest of his life insisting that the world had known and had not acted in time.

The greatest are always questioned. But we can say that when it came to including all people “the Great” Babe Ruth led during his era when it was not popular to share with those of different color. It was never credited to him. He barnstormed with many of the great black baseball teams playing games against them in different towns to show how many of the black baseball teams were just as good or better than those of the all white teams that existed in the Major leagues. for so long. Things like this should be noted because it adds to all of us and that’s what His (the man from above) idea was meant for us to understand. That, I’ll say added to our society. This was a characteristic of the Great Home Run hitter Babe Ruth. That I believe should be noted. Yes he was a difference maker with his abilities to influence for the better of all. Now that’s a difference maker

I'm tired of being told that, to be a progressive, I now must swear allegiance to crazy ideas. I'm a strong Democrat, with a winning bipartisan track record. I'm rooted in progressive ideals and policies: criminal justice reform, Green New Deal, Medicare for All, free education, clean air and water. These are ideas I have fought for my entire adult life. But some people in groups like the DSA are pushing an agenda FAR outside those ideals. Supporting Hamas is not progressive. "No police, no prisons, no borders" is not progressive. Celebrating the murder of Israeli civilians is not progressive. These ideas are REGRESSIVE. If there were no police or prisons, if anyone in your neighborhood could do whatever they wanted, while politicians cheered on terror groups — would that represent PROGRESS to you? No, that would be a step back. Those are REGRESSIVE ideas. On the other hand, if everybody could see a doctor when they got sick, get a good, free education and breathe clean air — would that represent progress? Yes. Those are PROGRESSIVE ideas. They are NOT the same thing. And the difference matters. Some defend the far left by claiming they only want Nordic-style social democracy. If that were true, I might applaud them. I want those policies, too! But what does universal healthcare have to do with Hamas? With abolishing all law enforcement? With erasing all borders? With treating every wealthy person as a villain? Ideas matter. And these are terrible ideas. Right now, extremists are trying to sneak backwards proposals into our party, hoping mainstream Democrats are too frustrated with MAGA and the Democratic Party establishment to notice. But we see you. Yes, we want our Democratic Party to be a big tent. But we don’t need "party poopers. So STOP pooping in the punch bowl — and telling us the turds are ice cubes. They aren't. And we are smart enough to know the difference. 💩

Remember in 2023 when grotesquely overrated Mike Tomlin didn’t know his best QB was the one he buried on the third string? Then that QB saved Tomlin’s worthless winning season record and led the Steelers to the playoffs — without an offensive coordinator and an injured TJ Watt? No Steelers QB has played that well since pre-elbow injury Ben. Thank you, Mason Rudolph.

“Let’s just finish the job.” @POTUS I fully support. And to address all of the commentators & articles that are to flood the waves. Yes, the U.S, can open the Strait of Hormuz by force, yes the U.S. can use force to achieve the goals relating to Iran’s nuclear, missile, naval, and proxy programs. And no, we do not have to start a forever war, a nation state building war to do that. War is an act of force or that threat of force to compel the enemy to do our will. Take or threaten what the enemy values most. There is a long list of legitimate options the U.S. and Israel did not take during the 38 days of Operation Epic Fury.
.@POTUS on what changed with Iran: "I think more than anything else is I got to know them — and I'm not sure I want to make a deal with them. We can play games, but I'm not sure I want to make a deal. Let's just finish the job."
