Today I turn 88…I’ve seen some serious shit. The most serious of it all is love. I love my family, my friends, and my wonderful fans. The power of love remains.

I work for WWE but watch a lot of wrestling worldwide. This goes for all wrestlers in all companies. I have worked in Wrestling for 42 years. An observation. We are portraying trained pro fighters with instincts ( even comedy bouts). If you don’t win you would make less money in the story we’re telling. Every TV bout , if there’s a pin, the cameras focus in. Please pin and kick out like your life and career depend on it. In story, it does. I’ve also been a part of knowing most talent since the 2000’s in many companies. As time goes by younger talent copy their favourite of film. I recently watch AJ Styles v Amazing Red from the early 2000’s. I see how many people copied them. What I saw was every pin was aggressively applied and shoulders covered and stacked. Every kick out they kicked out like their life depended on it. Something has been lost in the last 20 + years. Let’s not insult the intelligence of our audience who are giving us their precious time. In a fight scene in a movie ( which is what wrestling is) we know the punches don’t really hit but if we saw that we would eventually stop watching it. Your audience and fans deserve better. If you can’t be uncomfortable for a few seconds being stacked up in a pin, maybe this isn’t for you.

In the seasons where Man City have been found guilty of breaking Premier League financial rules, no team missed out on European football at their expense more often than Everton 😳

Zack Snyder has never seen Joss Whedon's "Justice League" and reflects on the DC Universe being taken away from him: "There was a point when ['Justice League'] was released that was a low point for me because the pile-on effect was so insane. Not only did I lose my daughter, but also they’ve released this version of the movie that I had nothing to do with and my name is on a movie that I didn’t make." "I met with this executive at Warner Bros. and he said to me, 'You know, Zack, I’ve got to tell you one thing: You were right about everything.' And I was like, 'That’s kind of you.' And he goes, 'We were fighting you, and in the end you were right'... [They were fighting me on the] whole vision for the DC universe and the way I made movies and everything. They did this attempt to control it — and I’m just talking about the regime that was there that’s no longer there. They had this massive IP that’s worth a ton and I can understand wanting to protect it as best they could since all their jobs depended on it working, and they’d put it in the hands of a madman — or so they thought — so the part of them thinking that, and this is going to sound horrible, 'This thing that happened to Zack is a window for us to take the movie back now.'" wp.me/pc8uak-1lHKvW

Proud to host the launch of the On Your Side suicide prevention toolkit at Hill Dickinson Stadium. 💙 Leading sports figures joined The Prince and Princess of Wales, who also met EitC participant Sam, EitC staff member John, and Gary Speed’s mother Carol to discuss Gary’s legacy and how On Your Side could help the future of suicide prevention in sport.

While shooting CUTTHROAT ISLAND in Malta, I brought my 16mm camera to make a black-and-white short film. When the production blew up the pirate ship, I captured the massive explosion. This was one of the last big-budget studio films to rely almost entirely on practical in-camera effects and stunts. Regardless of its initial reception, making this film was the adventure of a lifetime. This is from a recent scan of my original camera negative.

ROCKY III was released 44 years ago today. During the Thunderlips fight with Hulk Hogan, Hogan accidentally slammed Stallone hard enough to injure his collarbone and his leap into the crowd took out three stuntmen for real.
