#OTD in Weather History: October 9-10, 1804. The "Great Snow Hurricane" dumped over 2 feet of snow to interior SNE & brought 110 mph winds to Boston!

We will survey storm damage in CT & RI tomorrow. Looking at radar data & videos it does appear likely that a tornado occurred. The survey will help determine its strength on the EF-scale, maximum wind speed, & path length/width. More info tomorrow as it becomes available.

A tornado watch has been issued for parts of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Rhode Island until 3 PM EDT
This graphic displays Tornado Watch watch number 497 plotted on a map. The watch is in effect until 3:00 PM EDT. The watch includes parts of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Rhode Island. The threats associated with this watch are a couple tornadoes possible, isolated hail up to half inch size possible and scattered gusts up to 60 mph possible. There are 14,228,315 people in the watch along with 4099 schools and 230 hospitals.
