Whilst not one of the Riot/Blizz folks, I was let go from my role as a concept artist as well this week and am now looking for work. I specialize mostly in stylized or creature work, but I'm very interested in more character-based and historical projects

Really not sure what to do about making a demo for my game now. I was hoping I could show it off, get feedback, build a community around this game.
But now, if people are just going around cloning games with AI and releasing everything before it's ready... what do you even do?
I try my best to play as many Next Fest demos each time there is one. But man... everything is full of AI assets.
Makes it hard to think the game is gonna be good if it's full of stuff like that.

Wikipedia has been doing some really awesome social media posts. They've been hiring artists & animators to talk about random Wikipedia articles or explain how it works.
They could have just hired influencers, or made text posts. But this feels much more grassroots. I love it

I love Godot. I spent ages following tutorials for node programming in Unreal, and whilst I got some basics I always felt like I wasn't capable of moving past tutorials
Now I've been learning scripting in Godot and I'm already moving on to making my own unique systems, its great
I really miss the UK at the moment.
I feel like it's usually a deluge of depressing politics and racism. But the World Cup & the supporters, the multiculturalism, everything has been the most positive vision I've had of my home country in a long, long, long time.
Racism of papers like The Daily Mail is utterly alien to me and my understanding of the UK
I don't get it now, I didn't get it during the fury at the Olympic ceremony for having a story of a young black couple as part of the show

The death of Sony as a console company will not come from a lack of physical discs (something that feels pretty inevitable anyway), but because they started selling their *exclusive* IP on PC Marketplaces, removing the entire function of their console for short-term profitability
The UK education system is super efficient. It spends hundreds of thousands of pounds per student training kids to enter the workforce, then at age 18 encourages them to take unpayable loans which can be increased unilaterally so talent never wants to stay in the UK. 10/10
