Looks like this has been rated an EF-1. The first F/EF-1 tornado in Nassau County since a F1 in Glen Clove on August 12, 2005 (EF scale implemented in 2007) Last F2 in Nassau was in 1998. There has never been a tornado rated stronger than F2. Not something you see everyday!

🌪️RARE NY TORNADO: Roofs were blown off buildings in and around the Sun and Surf Beach Club after a tornado ripped through part of Atlantic Beach on New York's Long Island. This is the first tornado to hit Nassau County since 2021, according to the NWS.

Here are the latest storm total rainfall reports from Saturday night through Monday morning. Heavy rainfall led to catastrophic flooding in portions of southwestern CT, and northwestern Suffolk. Locally, amounts were over 10 inches. Continue to heed remaining road closures.
