Wait so there are now blue checks (losers), gold checks (media/gov?) and also grey checks (also media?). Wasn’t the point of selling blue checks to democratise it and make it an equal platform. But now the gold checks seem even more elite because they are gold? What a mess ha
So from this point on it becomes a lot easier to visually identify the losers paying for a blue tick
Tomorrow, 4/20, we are removing legacy verified checkmarks. To remain verified on Twitter, individuals can sign up for Twitter Blue here: xitter.cf/i/twitter_blue_sign_up

If Twitter have pulled the plug on 3rd party apps like Tweetbot (surely not?) then that’s probably the last straw for me. I hate the official Twitter app. I might look or post occasionally but opening Twitter app multiple times a day does not feel appealing
Luckily Tapbots are working on a mastodon app that looks great xitter.cf/macrumors/status/15977…

Up the workers.
This year’s an especially important one to give your postie a card and put whatever tip you can afford in.
You can scroll and scroll for ages on the Elon musk topic on Twitter and it’s all praise for him from mostly weirdos. Surely he hasn’t told someone to curate these. Either that or it’s an incredibly lucky draw of the algorithm.
I don’t think it will soon, but imagine if Twitter does just… end. What a weird way for this to all go. Maybe it will just be better if it does, and we all go back to running personal blogs and RSS.

Hundreds upon hundreds of Twitter employees have technically resigned but still have access to Twitter’s internal systems, with some speculating it is because the employees tasked with managing that access also resigned.

Twitter’s issues aren’t engineering problems though. They are *policy and political* problems. Areas which Musk is clearly not up to solving thoughtfully

In both those companies, people die if the software doesn't work right. Do you really think he's not up to managing a social network?
