At best, this is a hail mary for new revenue; at worst, it's predatory.
Parents/kids are guilted into buying the best gear, playing on the most select (see: $$) teams, investing in year-round training, & are now being told to pay for a chance to play at the next level.
Rivals is charging high school athletes and parents $499 for an 'evaluation' by a Rivals scout.
The fee includes a scouting report, grade, film evaluation, coach interview, and consideration to be ranked on their site.
This is solving a problem that doesn't exist. One that companies like Hudl have largely eliminated. If you can play, you'll be found (almost always)
Please stop turning youth/HS sports into a money grab.

3 months ago, I sold my 1st company, Skio, for $105M cash.
Now my 2nd company, Icon, just raised $30M to launch something the world has never seen.
For $1000, we make 6 human creator ads (no AI, 100% real).
We find creators, ship products, write scripts, & edit videos.
It's risk-free:
- Full refund if you don't love your ads.
- You don't pay until you review 6 scripts.
- Unlimited human revisions.
Today, Icon introduces the world's first Agency.
We're not building a normal agency:
- We bought a $12M domain.
- We're backed by Founders Fund and OpenAI + Google DeepMind leaders.
It’s impossible to hire a creative team like ours for even $30K/mo:
- Creative Directors who've worked with $100M brands (IM8, Obvi, Ridge). They update our format library daily based on winning ads (street interviews, skits, & 20+ more).
- 12+ scriptwriters with $80M in Meta adspend.
- 200+ in-house editors who've edited 100K ads.
One more thing...
We're giving away our internal Google Drive with 1000 winning ads that have driven $100M+ in revenue.
You can make $100K copying these ads if you know what you're doing.
Want the Google Drive?
1. Retweet this post.
2. Comment "icon".
3. DM me this post’s link & I'll DM you back with the Google Drive.
[Bonus] Get 3 free human creator ads if you do the above and we end up working together.

Healthy college sports need healthy colleges.
If athletics are the "front porch", then schools should use that porch to show communities why higher education is worth fighting for.
Comment to share how higher education impacts families and communities in positive ways.

I caught up with the folks who are trying to give college athletes a better licensing deal to appear in video games...a shakeup that could help athletes, game publishers, schools, AND consumers:

A great piece by @MattBrownEP for @FOS 👇
New, for @FOS:
Yes, Ohio State's roster has a big ol' NIL "payroll" number. But in my view, the lesson here is far more complicated than just "spent a lot of money to win a title."
Experience, leadership and FIT matter a great deal:

Some career news 🚨
I've joined @MattBrownEP & Extra Points as its VP of Marketing.
I'm excited to support the company's growth as a premier digital media company in college sports business.

I'll be focused on audience acquisition, content and PR strategy, and brand development. Ultimately, I'm here to help the company grow.
Matt & co. have built an incredible foundation and have put EP in a great position to do big things in 2025 🚀
This is a new chapter after a decade at @Opendorse. Working with @Blake_Lawrence & @Kunalic has been an incredible journey that I wouldn't trade for anything.
I'm rounding out my time at OD in a consulting role. Holler if you need a connection!
Breakaway from the NCAA. Have a third party run it all. Make athletes employees. Eliminate the academic-athletic connection. Is that the ONLY path forward for college sports?
@MattBrownEP (and others!) think there could be another way.
