She carries
her hometown
behind closed eyes
Each window warm
against the night
Her dreams ripen
without moving
as she calls to the sky
with a tremor
in her breath
For a moment
she believes in clouds
in all they hold
without keeping
She leaves her #doubt
by an open gate
and walks
her childhood garden
in the last
of evening light

September, October & November
"September brings the whispers of change, October paints the world with golden beauty, and November reminds us to cherish the quiet moments of life. Each season has its own poetry, its own magic, and its own beautiful story to tell.

A POEM FROM "DON'T ASK ME FOR A RED ROSE"
THREE DAUGHTERS OF AUTUMN
September has gone, dragging her long dress
Gave way to October
the middle daughter of autumn
September had red cheeks and yellow hair
October came with yellow cheeks and red hair
September had a flighty demeanor
from the leftover of summer
Sometimes she was cheerful like a child
Sometimes she was silent like an old woman
October was a woman of about forty-five
But she had lost none of her beauty
She had a mature and dignified appearance
She was not cold like her little sister November
Nor was she indecisive like her big sister September
She was the one we think of when we think of autumn
Then she left, to be replaced by her younger sister, November.
She came in with her earthy face and orange hair
With the mood of a patient under the shadow of death
Three daughters of Autumn, each the belles of a thousand poets
They came and went, they fell from the calendar leaf
They waved from afar and said see you next year

The candle burned brightly,
A soft ember rose
Like the love in her life,
Her feelings grow.
A new relationship stirs
Feelings grow bright
Like the stars in the sky
So clear in the night
She couldn’t believe she met
The man of your dreams
Her life now full,
W happiness it seems

Leaves falling,
The softest bed
The trees barren
Lost yellows and red
I walk a path
Nature left behind
The coolest breeze
The trails I find
The cooler weather
The birds fly south
Holidays coming
Shorter days now

She came like moonlight where my dark silences slept, teaching ruins to bloom.
One unexpected glance— pride became a trembling star, eternity knelt in her eyes.
Love never conquered her; she chose to stay, making surrender her crown.

I would love any opinions on my poem. I think we are moving too fast with AI, instead of stopping as individuals and enjoying the moment like we should, putting on faces instead of being our authentic selves. I will be first to admit I’m guilty of this and have to be mindful.

Eminence is spreading,
People can’t see,
Natures external beauty
Blooming roses or trees
They can’t find happiness
Missing true color
Like a black and white tv
Chasing one thing or another
Vinyls for music,
Gone with the past
Bands come and go
Memories don’t last

Her story was a sad one,
Her failures were hard
Missed opportunity
Lost a deck of cards
Most days for her stormy
With thunder and rain
She stumbled quite often
often felt the same
She had violent rages
She could not control
Spit personality
Just half not whole

She'd cried far too
Many tears,
Pieced together
Many more times
Her shattered heart
And
Knew her gut feeling
Spoke wisdom
If only:
-If: The Operative Word-
If only:
She'd listened
If she'd pretended not to hear
Then maybe
Her past
Would have become
Her different future
