every demoralised young man I’ve met had been treated with contempt and disdain by the world for most of his life, and responded enthusiastically to something as basic as me taking an interest in him & what he was about. none were entitled or spoiled or unwilling to work. but men need a purpose, they need to be working for something meaningful to them, because they’re human beings with souls, not robots. try speaking to them with respect and kindness and actually caring what they think, instead of just attacking and degrading them. this isn’t difficult. you can’t demean people then expect them to give a fuck what you have to say.
