Smith will not cancel her divisive separatist referendum, despite Trump threatening our very existence as a nation. Even the Parti Quebecois promised not to hold a separation referendum while Trump was president. Smith is more separatist than the PQ. Crazy.

OK. Here's a summary of tonight's Alberta Prosperity Project meeting, with Mitch Sylvestre doing most of the talking. Sylvestre denies he and Jeff Rath were fired from the organization, claiming Tanya Clemens and Chris Scott lacked the authority to remove them. He accused Danielle Smith of betraying separatists and warned that alienating independence supporters could hand the next election to the NDP. He's aiming to mobilize 1,000 independence supporters for the upcoming UCP AGM in Calgary, with plans to elect four or five sympathetic provincial board members who could help trigger a leadership review. Another organizer noted three UCP constituency associations have already passed motions calling for a leadership review. She alleged UCP president Rob Smith was working behind the scenes to get constituency associations to pass letters supporting the premier. APP supporters are being encouraged to buy UCP memberships, attend constituency association meetings and seek positions on local boards. Sylvestre didn't ruled out forming a new political party if independence supporters are pushed out of the UCP. He also flatly rejected suggestions that his efforts could split the UCP and help elect the NDP. "Who split this party up? Danielle Smith split this party up. Period. End of conversation." And perhaps the most revealing statement of the evening came when Sylvestre explained why separatists should join the UCP: "If you're buying a UCP membership, you are not buying it to support the UCP. You are buying it to support our cause for independence." #abpoli #cdnpoli

Congratulations to Kyle Campbell, who was officially sworn in as the MLA for Calgary-Shaw today! Kyle is a strong Albertan, a proud Canadian, and an incredible community leader, steeped in service. I’m thrilled to officially welcome him to Alberta’s New Democrat Caucus! Our team is focused on the things that matter most to Albertans: saving Canada, lowering the cost of living, fixing our broken education system, protecting public health care, and building a resilient job-based economy. Kyle is ready to get to work for the people of Calgary-Shaw and help us build a better future for this province. Congratulations, Kyle. Better is possible. The people of Calgary-Shaw proved it and I know you’ll make your neighbours proud as their new MLA!

We need to talk about the separatists selling out our city and province. MAGA political operatives came to Calgary to help carve up our country. Meanwhile, separatist leaders went to Washington promising our water, our oil, and our land. If you want to live in the United States, move to the United States.

Nothing says “fighting for Canada” like sharing the stage with some separatists and a convicted criminal.

Jason Stephan and @ABDanielleSmith didn’t have the courage to campaign as separatists in the last election. But as long as she keeps him in the party, the whole UCP will have to next time. Good luck!

Alberta’s NDP harbours no seditionists. So no, it’s not the same. This is not a both-sides problem. The separation problem is a UCP problem because Conservatives have allowed it to become one. Conservatives should solve their internal problems, not blame others for them.
I think @ABDanielleSmith’s deference to her caucus is a strength. The UCP has tough debates ahead. Some even existential. No question. But let’s drop the fiction that fringe views and caucus divisions are exclusively conservative problems. The NDP has its own to answer for. My take on @PnPCBC 👇

The Premier could easily put out a statement repudiating the actions of her pals. That would show us where she stands. It’s been hours since the Globe piece was released. Tick tock. ⏰
Nenshi is a lying clown. He knows full well Jeffrey Rath despises Premier Smith because she is fighting to show that Canada can work and that Alberta should remain a part of the country. Rath literally hates her and has been relentlessly verbally accosting her for over a year. But Naheed doesn’t give a damn about the truth. He cares more about obtaining power than having integrity. So he will say whatever lies it takes about the Premier to get there. Albertans see through it. He will fail…

We’ve always known, but now it’s confirmed, that Danielle Smith’s separatist friends, including a sitting UCP president, have been conspiring to hand over Alberta’s land, oil and water to Donald Trump. Yet she refuses to kick them out of her party and instead changes the laws to give them everything they want. Albertans deserve so much better than this weak leadership that hurts us all. theglobeandmail.com/gift/b7b…

Naheed Nenshi on Danielle Smith calling for Alberta NDP to cut ties with federal NDP: "If we're now in the business of telling other parties what to do, then I'll tell Danielle Smith, how about you get rid of the separatists in your party?"

Separatists hate Canada so much that they will…. give our oil and water to Trump out of spite? You can’t make this up.

You’ve seen Danielle Smith’s referendum leaflets at your doorstep. Paid for your tax dollars, they blatantly appease her separatist base. Vote Option 1 to stay in Canada, and vote NO on questions 1-9. In 2027, vote her out.

Guess what? If you have a separatist in your government, you are a separatist government and a separatist premier.
Danielle Smith puts forward an extremely weak defence for allowing separatist MLAs to remain in caucus despite her party’s official position being pro‑Canada, pro‑Confederation

We built the last pipeline and will build this one. Let us know when you kick the separatists out of your party.
🚨BREAKING The federal NDP and Avi Lewis @avilewis just released a statement opposing the new pacific link pipeline and demanding it be halted. They oppose Alberta's Pacific Link pipeline and they will do everything in their power to kill it. Understand what this means... This would kill 140,000 jobs. Stop tens of billions in new wealth for Albertans to build things like hospitals and schools. Lost jobs and lower paycheques for Alberta families. Today I am calling on Naheed Nenshi @nenshi to do what he should have done a long time ago. Cut ties with his boss, Avi Lewis and the federal NDP. Officially, formally, in writing today. A clean break, right down to the name of their party. Not doing so tells Albertans all they need to know about where the NDP stands on Alberta energy… which is “leave it in the ground”.
