INDEPENDENT NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION PRESS STATEMENT UPDATE ON THE DISPLAY AND PUBLICATION OF THE PRELIMINARY REGISTER OF VOTERS FOR THE 2027 GENERAL ELECTION The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) wishes to provide an update on the display of the Preliminary Register of Voters ahead of the 2027 General Election. 2. In accordance with Section 19 of the Electoral Act, 2026, the Commission conducted the physical display of the Register at Registration Areas nationwide from 9th to 15th October, 2026, providing registered voters the opportunity to inspect their particulars and submit claims and objections as prescribed by law. 3. The Commission has taken note of the concerns expressed by Nigerians and other stakeholders regarding the desirability of making the Register accessible through its online platform in addition to the physical display already conducted. 4. Accordingly, and in furtherance of its commitment to transparency, accessibility and public confidence in the electoral process, the Commission has decided to make available on its online platform display.inecnigeria.org the same Preliminary Register of Voters earlier displayed at the Registration Areas. 5. This additional measure complements the physical display already undertaken and is intended to facilitate wider public access to the Register. Meanwhile, the Commission continues to process claims and objections arising from the exercise in accordance with the Electoral Act, 2026, preparatory to the certification and publication of the Final Register of Voters on 15th December 2026. 6. The Commission appreciates the continued interest and constructive engagement of Nigerians and stakeholders and reiterates its commitment to transparency, accountability and the faithful implementation of the Electoral Act, 2026 in delivering credible elections. Attended the Global Youth Festival in Paris a few weeks ago & ended up giving a speech at the French Assemblée Nationale. My speech resonated with so many African delegates in the room. Our children's education should be shaped with us, not for us.

APC are actually bandits... They rob you, return a bit of it and want to be awarded the Noble Peace Prize for the little they returned.
you’re my og, so know i’m not coming from a place of disrespect. but i think the part you’re missing is that this was never just about tinubu for me. i hate the apc. i hate what the apc represents, and what they’ve normalised: failure and mediocrity. they’re blind cankerworms.

We outsmarted the british....both in physical warfare and mental alacrity to execute trade ( slavery , and produce). Jaja of opobo TAXED the whitemen , aros controlled ALL slave export , ekumeku warriors beat them back and held still for 36yrs until truce. Again the british had "justifiable" reasons to hate us... You can also trace this to 1966 Civil war. It is inherent. Almost divine.
Yep. It was the British that sold Igbophobia. It was the behaviour of Igbo chiefs on the coast: Jaja, Oko Jumbo etc that kick started it, then Aros and hinterland and Western Igbos.

Me I have sha said it, I don't care what you do on your TL. But as someone living abroad, if you come to my TL to spill bullshit about me being irritational or not logical about politics, I'll swear for your entire generation. You don't share my reality, you can continue smiling with people invested in destroying the country, that's your problem. I wasn't raised to smile at injustice or be friendly with evil people or those supporting them. You guys over there being chummy with those ruining the country are the biggest cowards on the face of earth, because you're seeing in real time what a working society should look and operate like, you should be angrier than the folks living in Nigeria but as long as you can post yourselves shopping and vacating in France or disturb struggling Nigerian babes for sex every December, Nigeria can burn for all you care. People talk about how the average Nigerian is selfish, it's not even about giving to the needy, it's issues like this where people just don't care what the average Nigerian is going through because they want to look good to their APC friends. And the same people who keep quiet about these issues are the ones always quick to champion tribal narrative on the TL. You can defend Yoruba first narrative but can't defend Yoruba people against those ruining their lives. Fucking cowards.

Again, you guys abroad drop some amusing take. The person you replied to is in the UK, he is a Tinubu supporter, of course you guys can have civil discussions. You don't share Mukhtar's reality or his pain. You don't wake up middle of the night drenched in sweat with no light for half the day while paying band A rate. You're not paying through your nose for basic amenities that government should be providing. You're not scared for your life to go visit friends or family in another state or city. France is just some 100kms away from you, the citizens are tearing shit up over high cost of living alone, not insecurity, not unemployment, not poor healthcare, not decaying educational sector, not useless judiciary, not impunity in governance, not abuse of power by police and military, not politicians mocking the people. So if people in Nigeria are telling you no one who wants progress for the country should be chummy with or support the government, it's very very valid. You guys really need to take off your shade of privilege. One of my brothers is currently in the country, all it took for him to move up his return abroad is a crazy holdup, police harassing his driver and national grid collapse. These are "minor" realities we in Nigeria deal with everyday. Again you guys are not in position to tell Nigerians what's right or wrong.

I have noted with deep concern the conduct of the ADC campaign team. The attacks directed at me, our presidential candidate His Excellency Peter Obi, and our party, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), are unnecessary and unhelpful. Rather than focusing on presenting the competence, credibility, and capacity of their own candidate as we have consistently done by placing our credentials and record of achievements before Nigerians, the ADC Presidential Campaign Council appears intent on creating mischief against our party and ticket. This includes attempts to portray us as working for the ruling party or to suggest that we may withdraw from the race in favour of the ADC candidate at the last minute. The ADC-PCC would be better served directing its energy toward rebutting the serious allegations levelled against their candidate by the Vice President, His Excellency Kashim Shettima, instead of targeting me and His Excellency Peter Obi. We are aware that the ADC-PCC may try to mislead our supporters on the eve of the election by claiming that we intend to withdraw in their favour. Let me state clearly and unequivocally: we will not withdraw our candidature for the ADC or any other party. We remain confident in our capacity, competence, and readiness to lead Nigeria. The OK ticket is neither working for nor acting on behalf of the APC or any of its candidates. We see no possibility or reason to withdraw from the presidential race in favour of the ADC candidate or any other. These claims are unfounded and should be treated as such. The APC-led government has failed Nigerians. The ADC offers no better alternative. We believe the OK ticket presents a credible and viable option, backed by proven capacity, a strong track record, credibility, and broad support across both Northern and Southern Nigeria. It is a healing ticket committed to uniting our country and tackling critical challenges in security, education, agriculture, infrastructure, healthcare, the economy, and other key sectors. We believe the NDC remains the most formidable and viable opposition party in the country. I therefore urge all our supporters and well-meaning Nigerians to continue working toward the victory of our great party. Nigeria will be OK. - RMK
