I agree with this take on a spiritual level. The Celtics organization, Tatum, nor Scal started any of this, and Scal didn’t step in until the organization and its star were subliminally attacked. NOBODY is bigger than the team.

I’ve always valued offensive rebounding, but I think the indirect value gets overlooked. The threat of an elite offensive rebounding team can compromise an opponent’s transition offense by default, forcing more bodies to stay back and tend to the glass.
Boston is top 5 in fewest fast-break points allowed despite losing the oREB battle in 2 of 3 games and being subpar at protecting the ball. Obviously they’re naturally a good transition defense, but it has me thinking about how much of that value comes from the rebounding threat alone.

I recently visited a house in Miami owned by a Heat player. (My client was the prospective buyer). The house was the scene of a bankruptcy in action.
The player was at the end of his career. Selling the house at a significant loss after just a few years of owning it. Important to note: Miami single family over $5M is one of the best performing segments of the real estate market here. He managed to lose money on a house in a market that shot up. Amazing.
Easily over $5M of cars in the driveway (I am not exaggerating). And three rooms full of mostly sneakers. Thousands of pairs. It was mind boggling.
The listing agent started to extoll the virtues of the driveway, saying how nicely cars fit. My buyer, who can buy the whole thing in cash, deadpans that he does not have a car.

Midrange FGA: 11.2 last year to 11.1 this year
3PA rate: 46% last year to 46% this year
Early play has shown swapping Isolation possessions for more off screen scoring, which makes sense given their talent. Midrange/3PAr are consistent with the structure they had last year

I think the most telling thing to me about all the nonsense recently is Joe choosing his words carefully. "Jayson is our highest character guy" vs "my ten year old uses that one a lot" I think tells us a lot about what he thought of his locker room
