It feels like the #Canes rarely have a good game in their first home contest after a long road trip.
Not a great start.
The original TBL logo was bad, but I do miss the Lightning with black. Looks much better than the monochromatic kit they have now.
The very author of Dune had such a struggle with Paul being seen as the hero that he had to make it much more obvious in the other books. I have no issue with DV using Chani as a conduit for driving home that point.
In the book Chani is aware of what Paul is doing and is his most loyal supporter. She understands the political complexities of Arrakis and the galaxy beyond and stands by Paul and bears his children. My issue is DV purposefully changing her character to drive home his view that PAUL IS EVIL with all the subtlety of a brick to the face.
100% this is what happened.
Niki probably wouldn’t have have been traded until at least the deadline at this point.
#Canes
Would assume the Hellebuyck trade finally pushed Nikishin's camp to call it on the stalemate.
Winnipeg wasn't necessarily interested, but Canes reportedly were looking for a three-team trade to get Hellebuyck, which I assume Nikishin would have been a part of.
Since that fell through, there just wasn't anything else to drive potential trade value.
Woah, State actually did it.
Right move, but honestly wasn’t sure they’d make it.
BREAKING: NC State has fired head coach Dave Doeren after 14 seasons with the program. Doeren finishes his tenure at NC State with a 98-74 overall record in Raleigh.
Todd Goebbel will take over as the interim head coach.

If it’s Carolina, Chicago Wolves fans should probably brace themselves.

Going to be an interesting night for the #Canes forward group. Wonder how much Jarvis will be able to do, and how much the 4th line will be able to contribute.
This (plus Nadeau getting sent down today) sets the stage for Jarvis to make his season debut against the Oilers tomorrow.
It's a rare post-win practice day for the #Canes in Edmonton, and there are a few important updates to share.
First, Seth Jarvis is a full participant and is working as part of a line with Jordan Martinook and Jesperi Kotkaniemi. He said he wanted to get in another skate before making his season debut, and this certainly looks like it could be that.
We'll see what Rod Brind'Amour says following the skate.
Jarvis' impending return has caused a few other changes among the forwards, notably with Martinook moving back to the wing and Felix Unger Sörum to the middle.
Bradly Nadeau is not skating.
Carrier - Aho - Svechnikov
Ehlers - Stankoven - Blake
Martinook - Kotkaniemi - Jarvis
Robinson - Unger Sörum - Deslauriers
Slavin - Chatfield
Miller - Walker
Gostisbehere - Välimäki

ALT Seth Jarvis on the ice during a previous practice.
Seems highly probable, though the fact that the middle is PG and we know the jersey is probably gray with Struttin Stormy makes me curious still
The puzzle for the #Canes Hometown Remix jersey has dropped. The Sens puzzle was just an anagram, but this is deeper. Haven’t solved it yet.
This.
You can say Nadeau hasn’t gotten top line opportunities and you’d be right, but he has to *earn* those. Blake and Jarvis started in the bottom six too and proved they belonged.
The longer this goes the more worried I am that Nadeau is going to become a tweener.
