“We have reached a critical impasse in this nation that requires intentionality and thoughtfulness to deconstructing racial aggression. Now is a time when silence makes individuals complicit in the marginalization of minoritized populations.” — Professor, Yolanda Norton #BLM

Ocker took the SFTS helm in August, and he is eager to connect with alumni and friends of the Seminary near and far. We look forward to a lively conversation about the Interim Dean's vision of the future of theological education here on our San Anselmo campus.

As we look back, we also look forward—what’s new, and what spiritual and business programs might interest you in the future? And while you’re cruising down San Anselmo Avenue, check out the History Museum for a new exhibition about those castles on the hill.
Last week, students, staff, faculty, and community members celebrated our Fall Convocation and the opening of our 150th school year. We were blessed with Rev. Dr. Jacqueline Thompson and the Allen Temple Baptist Church Women’s choir! Story and video here: redlands.edu/bulldog-blog/20…

"I am teaching a course on contemplative women, and I began collecting pictures of women writing theology. This is a repressed history but—as you see from these beautiful faces—it is rich, deep, diverse, and filled with sacred wisdom." —Dr. Wendy Farley

The Service of Convocation is the inaugural event of the Fall 2021 Semester. Recognizing that we gather in complicated times, we ask that those attending in person be vaccinated or appropriately exempted, wear masks, and practice social distancing.

Today’s prayer: If comparison is the thief of joy, then Lord, help me to not compare my life today to my life 6 months ago. Help me find the joy in THIS life, and in THIS day and to know that it is from you, and it is enough. Amen. – at Lakewood, CO

#GA224 CoMods @ElonaAndGregory avoided a floor fight tonight regarding the status of @SanFranSeminary as a #PCUSA seminary — saying they will bring the parties together soon to try to resolve the dispute. pres-outlook.org/2020/06/gen…

I look at both sides of this issue, those who have spoken “on behalf” of SFTS and those at @presbyGA and I say we can and must do better. Students are in the crossfires of your ongoing disputes. Remember us. #GA224

Anyone want to guess which TSADs are voting against their school getting excommunicated by committee? The assembly theme is lament and let’s please lament the loss of SFTS’s recognition. Give me a sec to move from lament to hope (hope in mediation for reconciliation) #ga224

A message from the two co-mods: there has been some discord about SFTS and the discussion is important. However, we won’t settle it here. We don’t have adequate capacity. We will call the parties together and engage a mediator if necessary. #ga224

We agree with Rev. Allen that the lives of black women and girls are far more important than the issues regarding SFTS and COTE. #GA224
