We are pleased to serve as a technical partner for two key discussions at the 1𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 Convening on Clean Technology Minerals & Supply Chains, organised by the 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡, a platform led by UN @SEforALLorg, @UofCalifornia, @DavisCollegeOH & @DukeU, focused on strengthening collaboration from minerals to manufacturing across emerging economies. Our engagement focused on two critical stages of the minerals value chain: Session 6: 𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 – 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐜𝐚𝐧 “𝐰𝐢𝐧-𝐰𝐢𝐧” 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡-𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 The discussion explored collaboration across exploration, geological knowledge-sharing, investment, and actionable cooperation pathways. The session featured a context-setting presentation by CRF’s @MeheliToday and was moderated by Dr @Sandeeppaii, with perspectives from experts across #India, #Ghana, #Kenya, and the private sector. Session 7: 𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 – 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐥𝐮𝐠 𝐠𝐚𝐩𝐬? Moderated by Dr. @debajitpalit, Head, Centre for Climate Change & Energy Transition, CRF, the session examined pathways to strengthen mineral processing, refining, downstream manufacturing, and industrial capabilities across the #GlobalSouth. The discussion brought together experts from India, #Australia, #Zimbabwe, & #SouthAfrica. A key takeaway from both discussions was that resilient #CriticalMineral supply chains require more than access to mineral resources to also include processing capacity, technology transfer, investment, skills, research ecosystems, and development-oriented partnerships. The convening also marked the launch of 𝐂𝐑𝐅’𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐟, “𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐫: 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐬’ 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚,” authored by @MeheliToday and formally launched by Anshoo Pandey, Director, National Critical Minerals Mission, @MinistryofMines and and Mr. Divyam Nagpal, Green Value Chains, @SEforALLorg.
