ALT โHaving processed your question about the relevance of personal stories in performance I wanted to add that I feel it's really important for people to be able to access personal stories at the moment. There has been a massive rise in late diagnosis & self-identification over the last few years as representation & availability of information about autism has improved - the common narrative in media is that those seeking diagnosis are just looking to feel special or join a trend, as opposed to a large amount of people having been let down & denied support because they didn't fit a specific profile (Simon Baron-Cohen proposed the 'extreme male brain' theory of autism in 2002 which I don't feel helped the situation). This is especially true for multiply marginalised people who may experience barriers to diagnosis due to classism, sexism, racism, queerphobia etc.โ Next para provided in following tweet
