The Government's answer to close the 20 year life expectancy gap for people living with learning disabilities is to move from one dataset that has changed nothing (LeDeR) to another useless dataset that will be more just confirming the evidence we already have. ACTION NOT STATS

Please share. We are hoping to build support to ensure that this option is available to people with a learning disability across the country.

Trump is utterly disgusting. Surely we cannot be far from the time when King Charles refuses to be involved in Trump’s attempts to use a significant šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø anniversary for his own ends. Just take today - for a US President to say ā€œI’m glad he’s deadā€ of a man who has devoted his life to public service is beyond vile. And his endorsement of Orban (farewell any notion of not interfering in other countries’ politics) puts him in the Putin camp once more, furthering the risk to Ukraine. Add in the endless insults of @Keir_Starmer and I really think the time has come for the šŸ‘‘ to follow the Pope in being otherwise engaged .

Fears for senior nursing roles amid pressures to cut NHS costs A planned restructure at one NHS trust could lead to the loss of 17 senior nursing posts, leaving staff feeling demoralised and undervalued, Nursing Standard has been told. rcni.com/nursing-standard/ne…

As it should be!
A ban on nurse managers and other senior NHS staff guilty of serious misconduct from taking up other senior health service roles will ā€˜slam the door on unsuitable managers’, the government claims.

Brilliant piece from reporter Reuben Reuter, highlighting avoidable deaths, the missing LeDeR report and the learning disability nursing crisis! Where is the outcry? What’s in that report? How can we continue to fail this population of people so publicly, without action?

NEW: Learning disabled people die 20+ years earlier than the general population. This is why. Myles was 31. He had a totally treatable blood clot yet a coroner found his medical treatment neglectful, complacent & dismissive. I spoke with his family. itv.com/news/2025-07-16/unfo…

Well there’s one grim fact coming from Birmingham and Solihull’s death notifications, people with a learning disability are dying younger than in previous years. This runs deeper than just health inequalities, little wonder our region is bottom of NHS performance tables
Sorry, ran out of signal at the conference. Umesh Chauhan was next. He couldn’t talk about the latest Leder report as it’s not public yet. Does anyone who should care this review is so delayed? 1.
